Abstract:
A front-projection screen that includes a prismatic film that comprises an outside surface of the screen. The film includes parallel prismatic grooved lines. Each of the lines have a draft surface, a groove surface, and, each of the lines are located on a first side of a base portion of the film. The screen also includes a diffuser-reflector layer adjacent to a second opposite side of the base portion. The outside surface of the screen is oriented to receive an incoming light exclusively through the draft surfaces of the lines. The incoming light has an angle of incidence of about 60 degrees or greater with respect to the normal of the outside surface. A draft-base angle between the base portion and the draft surface is about 75 degrees or greater.

Abstract:
The present invention relates to an outer dome configured to provide protection and optical correction to a system of projection optics and the output thereof. More particularly, an optical projection system having an optical offset of greater than 100% is comprised within a projector housing having an outer dome comprised of an optically active material mounted onto an opening approximately coinciding with the optical projection system's exit pupil. The outer dome is configured to be decenterized from the exit pupil (e.g., the center of the dome is offset from the exit pupil in one or more of an x, y, and z direction) such that it provides optical correction to a projected image. Therefore, an outer dome is configured to provide protection to optical elements provided therein and improvement of projected image quality (e.g., reduced image distortion, reduced aberration).

Abstract:
In described examples, a projector includes a light source to produce first light of a first color. The projector also includes a phosphor to selectively receive the first light and produce second light of a second color in response to the first light. The projector also includes a dichroic mirror to pass a portion of the second light to produce a third light of a third color. The dichroic mirror reflects a portion of the second light as fourth light of a fourth color.
