Disclosed is a DC/DC converter apparatus comprising a full bridge non-resonant pulse-width-modulated (PWM) switching circuit, which includes inductive device(s), clamp diodes, and an output transformer rectifier and filter circuit. Capacitive and diode elements associated with bridge switching devices operate to switch current through the switches at substantially zero voltage (ZVS). The inductor element and clamp diodes are used to reduce the primary transition shoot through current resulting from reverse recovery of the transformer secondary rectification stage while also reducing emi and semiconductor stresses.

Disclosed is an apparatus for generating two constant width and symmetrical drive signals from two separate, but complementary, pulse width modulated control signals while also generating two pulse width modulated drive signals corresponding to said pulse width modulated control signals. The constant width drive signals are generated through the use of a toggle or latch set/reset circuit actuated by a given characteristic of each of the control signals.
Direct Bandpass Sampling Receivers With Analog Interpolation Filters And Related Methods
Reconfigurable direct radio frequency (RF) bandpass sampling receivers are disclosed that utilize analog interpolation filters to improve performance. The addition of the analog interpolation filter to the bandpass sampling receiver allows the quantization clock to be de-coupled from the RF sampling clock. As such, the quantization can be performed at a much slower rate than the initial RF sampling allowing the final analog bandwidth to be much narrower than the bandwidth of the first stage filter located before the high-speed sampler. The combination of a tunable bandpass filter, tunable bandpass sample clock and analog interpolation filter followed by a further stage of sampling and quantization at a slower rate than the bandpass sample clocking, therefore, provides significant advantageous by de-coupling the quantization sample rate from the high-speed sample rate. If desired, the analog interpolation filter may also be tunable. Other variations and implementations are also described.

Nyquist folded bandpass sampling receivers are disclosed that utilize narrow band filters in parallel with wideband filters to enhance reception of ultra wideband (UWB) pulses. The addition of the narrow band filter facilitates the reception of ultra wideband signal pulses and, therefore, extends the Nyquist folding bandpass sampling receiver to allow improved processing of ultra wideband (UWB) pulses. RF sampling circuitry utilizing a modulated sampling clock signal can then better capture UWB pulse signals.

Nyquist folded bandpass sampling receivers are disclosed that utilize wideband filters and modulated sampling clocks to identify received signals. In operation, multiple Nyquist zones are allowed to fold on top of each other during sampling. Because the RF sampling clock is modulated, separate frequency modulations can be induced within each Nyquist zone. The signals that are folded together from different Nyquist zones can then be identified and distinguished. In particular, when the Nyquist zones fold on top of each other, the different signals from different Nyquist zones can be separated and identified based on the fact that the added modulation is different for each Nyquist zone. Thus, by using one or more clock modulations to induce frequency modulations that are Nyquist zone dependent, multiple Nyquist zones can be aliased together while still allowing for signals from different Nyquist zones to be separated and identified. Other variations and implementations are also described.

Abstract:
A charging system for charging an electric vehicle comprises an inductor-inductor-capacitor (LLC) battery charger that includes an isolation transformer having a transformer primary and a transformer secondary, the transformer primary included in an inductive charger station of the charging system and the transformer secondary included in an inductive power receiver of the charging system, with the inductive power receiver positioned on the electric vehicle. The LLC battery charger also includes a magnetizing inductor circuit element and a leakage inductor circuit element integrated into the isolation transformer on the transformer primary. The isolation transformer is constructed such that the transformer primary and the transformer secondary are separable from one another, with a selective engaging and disengaging of the transformer primary and the transformer secondary based on movement of the inductive power receiver on the electric vehicle relative to the inductive charger station.

A controller for use in a line voltage drop compensation system is provided. The controller includes a processing device and a memory device coupled to the processing device. The controller is configured to determine a resistance of a power transmission line, the resistance of the power transmission line determined at least partially based on a plurality of characteristics of a load and the transmission line. The controller is also configured to generate a control signal to control an output voltage of a boost circuit, the output voltage determined at least partially based on the determined resistance of the power transmission line. The controller is further configured to transmit the control signal to the boost circuit to cause the boost circuit to generate an output voltage to compensate for the voltage drop.

A component holding structure for holding a plurality of through-hole components having an axial lead includes a pair of opposing end walls that define a cavity between them. The cavity is configured to receive the through-hole components. The through-hole components are positioned between the pair of opposing end walls in a vertically-stacked configuration. Each one of the end walls includes at least one slot that is configured to receive the axial lead of each through-hole component when the plurality of through-hole components are inserted into the component holding structure. Each one of the end walls also includes a plurality of lead guides that are configured to guide the axial lead of each through-hole component when the plurality of through-hole components are inserted into the component holding structure.
