Abstract:In an articulated vehicle adapted for street or off-road use, the forward section manufactured on a first A-frame is pivotably coupled by means of a ball and socket to an aft section manufactured on a second A-frame so as to provide pivotable movement between said forward and aft sections about both horizontal and verticle axes. A first shaft is fixedly coupled to the forward section and extends behind the ball and socket and below a second shaft in said aft section. A coil spring suspension system is coupled between the first and second shafts and is adjustable along the lengths thereof so as to vary the degree of softness with which the vehicle will ride.

Abstract:A conveyer produces translation along the longitudinal axis of a cylindrically shaped body. An endless length of cable forms a tightly wrapped coil around the body and includes a loop displaced from the body. A support frame is supported by the terminal windings of the coil and is rotatable about the longitudinal axis of the body. A pulley is mounted on the frame for maintaining the loop in a substantially constant position with respect to the coil while a driving means induces relative rotational motion between the loop and the body about the longitudinal axis of the body. This relative rotational motion winds cable onto one end of the coil while simultaneously unwinding cable from the other end of the coil. The cable is maintained under tension so that the coil is wrapped tightly around the outer surface of the body. In this manner the frame and any load attached to it are conveyed along the longitudinal axis of the body.

Abstract:A swing propelled vehicle, having a frame set on wheels, a swing device, a steerable axle, and a braking wedge to prevent the wheels from turning in more than one direction. The vehicle is propelled by the momentum generated by the swinging motion, and the braking wedge prevents back-and-forth oscillation of the vehicle, affording forward progress. The direction of travel can be reversed by switching the braking wedge from the front of the wheel to the back and vice versa. The occupant can steer the vehicle by means of a handle that attaches to cables on a pivotally mounted axle.
