Abstract:

A safety hanger system for attachment to horizontal members of stringers or other support members forming a subfloor include a plurality of safety hanger straps each of which is provided with closed loop ends. Rigid retaining members such as D-rings are linked through one of said loop ends at one end of each of the straps. Snap hooks are supported on the retaining members. The safety hangers are attachable in spaced relationship to the stringers with at least one snap-hook positioned to engage a safety net below the adjacent stringers to catch a worker that slips through a subfloor under which the net is placed, whereby workers have freedom of movement above the subfloor without the need to be tethered by lanyards to any given fixed point. A method is disclosed for attaching the safety hanger straps to the stringers and for securing safety net(s) to the snap hooks.

Abstract:

A simple, one-piece mechanical tie allows quick and secure connection between rebar, mesh and form. A single piece of tie wire can secure the tie to the mesh and rebar, making the installation process much quicker than conventional processes. Unlike other devices that have multiple pieces where, if one piece is lost, the tie is unusable, the current device is designed as a single piece making installation and use quick and simple.

A form for creating a weldless rebar chair has an elongate rod arranged along a predetermined direction, said rod being formed into at least a plurality of partial elongate loops spaced from each other along the predetermined direction and arranged in a common plane defined by the elongate rod and the elongate loops. A method of producing a weldless rebar chair comprising the steps of arranging an elongate rod along the predetermined direction and bending it to create the elongate loops spaced and bending the loops at transition points to form intermediate portions arranged in a common plane and free ends that extend in directions normal to the plane, alternate free ends being bent in opposite directions and having lengths that are substantially equal to provide legs that can be placed on a surface to stabilize the rebar chairs.

Abstract:

A relatively thin flat panel of thermal insulating material is provided with an array of holes or apertures, each coaxially aligned or coextensive with a reinforcement bar emanating from a concrete slab forming an interior floor within a structure consistent with the design of a structural engineer of record. Rebar couplers (nipples) are arranged within each of the holes or apertures of the insulating panel having axial lengths greater than the thickness of the panel to extend beyond the panel on both sides thereof. The couplers are threaded both internally and externally. Nuts or threaded washers are threaded and tightened on both sides of each coupler to secure the coupler in place in relation to the panel. Alternatively, fiberglass rebars can be used extending through the insulating panel.
