Abstract:

A portable support for cameras, spotting scopes, and other devices is shown secured to a collateral support object (tree). A rope or strap encircles a collateral support member and the collateral support object (FIG. ) one or more times, and is then tightly placed in rope gripping clamps. An adjustable arm extends from the collateral support and includes an optical device mounting head, which in turn receives an optical device. Adjustable support is thereby provided for the optical device. The collateral support member interconnects with adjustable legs imparting the capability to configure the apparatus in a free standing mode.

Abstract:

An improved device for attachment of support apparatuses such as a tripod, support accessory, adjustable ball and socket support arms, and the like, to supplemental support objects such as a tree or limb, post or rail or other environmental objects, is herein provided. Convenient portable support of cameras, spotting scopes, optical devices and other devices is enhanced by enabling placement at usable heights, locations, and positions beyond the capabilities of the support apparatus alone. Shown as generally rectangular in shape, the support attachment device has a support apparatus side and supplemental support side, and an upper and lower end. FIG. 1 shows the support apparatus side 10 of the support attachment device. A support receiving groove 12 begins at the upper end 14 and ends at the lower end 16. Support receiving groove 12 divides a first support apparatus face 18 and second support apparatus face 20.

Abstract:

A versatile portable support for cameras, spotting scopes, and other devices is shown secured to a collateral support object (tree). A rope or the like is attached to a central hub member (FIG. 4), and encircled about a collateral support object one or more times, and then tightly placed in rope gripping clamps (FIG. 9). An optical device attachment assembly (FIG. 14), is removably coupled to an arm member (FIG. 10), which rotably and extendably supports cameras, spotting scopes, and other devices. My support is also shown configured so as to stand, tripod-like, on a generally horizontal surface. A central hub member (FIG. 4), houses an arm member hub (FIG. 11) and an elongated leg hub member (FIG. 7). Rotation of cam lock knob (FIG. 5) , disengages central hub member (FIG.
