Skills:
Educational experience in, but not limited to, the following studies: Sedimentology & Stratigraphy, Optical Mineralogy, Igneous & Metamorphic Petrology, Structural Geology, Hydrology, Geomorphology, Biology, Soils, Paleontology, Volcanoes, Environmental Science, Physics and GIS Mapping. An upper level GIS, where a basic understanding of GIS mapping was achieved, particularly with ARCGIS. Experience reading general maps (contour, well logs, etc.) with expanded knowledge with compasses and/or GIS/GPS devices. Ample field and lab hours performing such tasks as outcrop mapping and correlation, core sample studies, collection and analysis of field samples, and stream observation and analysis. Achieved the knowledge and experience of what is required to perform given tasks while working in the extreme conditions that field operations provide. Professional and educational experience working in groups or individually to achieve given tasks. Experience in a supervisory role, managing a group of 3- 8. Surveying and mapping experience gained through the use of certain devices, such as transits, to map outcrops or create foundations for physical structures. Strong experience with the use of ATVs, UTVs, and full size 4-wheel drive trucks. Also experienced in working with basic heavy equipment, such as backhoes or tractors. Further experience working with outdoor power equipment, such as chainsaws or trimmers. Proficient communication skills- both written and oral. Highly skilled with the most common computer programs, specifically Microsoft Office and Windows or MAC operating systems.
