Abstract:

A fuse indicator is disclosed for indicating the status of a fuse. The fuse indicator includes an electrically conductive material extending between conductive ends of a fuse. The material undergoes a visible change in appearance upon being subjected to electrical current above a threshold. The fuse indicator further includes a layer of indicator material that becomes exposed beneath the electrically conductive material when the fuse indicator is subjected to electrical current above the threshold. An adhesive means maintains contact between said fuse indicator and the fuse.

Abstract:

A screening machine of the type used to separate or classify mixtures of solid particles of different sizes includes a machine frame and a perforate screen panel mounted for movement relative to the machine frame during a screening operation. The screen panels are pre-tensioned mesh screen material mounted in a peripheral rim for separating various granular and particulate materials. The screen panel is slid into the side of the machine frame in a direction orthogonal to the direction particulate matter moves when the screening machine is operating. The screen panel peripheral rim has a shaped or other cross section adapted to hold a large seal member that provides a positive sealing surface for contact with the machine frame to prevent particulate matter from escaping off of the screen panel during use.

Abstract:

A screening machine includes a vibratory carrier and a vibratory drive operatively coupled to the vibratory carrier for imparting vibratory motion thereto. The screening machine includes a screen assembly selectively coupled to the vibratory carrier so that the vibratory motion is transmitted to the screen assembly. A sealing mechanism including at least one rotary cam having a cam surface and at least one actuator being accessible to a user of said screening machine is coupled to the rotary cam. Actuation of the actuator to rotate the cam urges the screen assembly and the carrier into sealing engagement with a confronting surface of the screening machine. The screening machine further includes at least one stop positioned relative to the sealing mechanism to limit rotational movement of the rotary cam in at least one direction.

Abstract:

A screen frame assembly is provided for use with a screening machine. The screen frame assembly includes first and second generally planar screen frames and a coupling between the first and second screen frames that includes a tab in the first screen frame and a receiving slot in the second screen frame. The receiving slot is configured to receive the tab and includes a centering feature for laterally aligning the first and second screen frames relative to one another. The centering feature may include a pair of opposed inwardly angled edges of the receiving slot. The coupling may include an overlap region between the first and second screen frames that is engageable to thereby permit lifting of the second screen frame by a lifting force exerted upon the first screen frame.

Abstract:

Wind energy is converted in a system having a telescoping, rotating, tiltable tower. A variable number of airfoil members is unfurled in accordance with the area of wind stream to be swept. The tiltable windmill rotating mast is a telescoping tower, which is retracted into storage mode, usually during dangerous windstorms. Each intermediate telescoping member carries a supporting member for an airfoil above and below such support, so that all sails are taut only when the tower is fully raised. Sails can be flapping when only partially raised. The number of sails unfurled is adjustable by reason of such telescoping mast. Resilient means urge the rotatable mast into a truly vertical position, while permitting such mast to tilt not more than a controlled angle in response to the wind, thereby permitting the airfoils more efficiently to rotate the mast. A plurality of transmission systems direct the power from the rotating mast to output means, so that when slight winds are producing minimum power, the frictional forces inherent in the heavy duty power transmission are not encountered. The strain imposed upon base members by the tilting of the rotating tower monitors the severity of wind at the airfoils, so that the strain gauges provide an alarm system for dangerous wind velocities.

Abstract:

A cheese server includes hangers for engaging cheese bag bottoms and suspending the bags inverted in a steam chamber. Gravity influenced squeeze bars ride down the bag sides to express cheese toward the bag outlet fitment. A hose is connected to the fitment and is pinched off by an "iron udder" clamping apparatus to control dispensing. Water in the bottom of the steam tank is heated to produce steam for heating the cheese quickly. A trough in the chamber top returns condensate to the water.
