The present invention includes but is not limited to a specimen collection device that includes a chamber capable of collecting a specimen, a specimen passage slot, a reservoir, a reservoir seal, and a test device. A sample or specimen added to the chamber flows through the specimen passage slot into the reservoir. Flow into the reservoir may be limited by the reservoir seal. The test device positioned within the reservoir detects the presence or concentration of an analyte within the sample or specimen.

Abstract:

An improved apparatus and method for conducting and recording tests on a sample of urine. A large sample collection cup is provided with a testing compartment incorporated into the side of the cup. A small channel at the base of the cup allows urine to flow into the testing compartment immediately upon collection. A test card with pretreated reaction sites is provided inside the testing compartment. At least a portion of the sample interacts with the test card and the results of the test can be read through the front of the testing compartment. Abbreviations on the test card indicate which tests are being run. The front of the testing compartment is flat so the results of the test can be easily photocopied or scanned for record keeping purposes. Physical and electronic templates are also provided to aid in the documentation process.

Abstract:

A system for reminding a patient of their doctor's instructions. In the preferred embodiment, the initial data entry is a fax from the doctor's office. The system receives the fax in a fax server and uses an image processor to extract relevant information. The relevant information is sent to a relational database where the relational database builds a record for the patient. The patient's record includes instruction information, which relates to “when” reminder messages are to be sent to the patient and “what” is to be included in the reminder messages. The instruction information is sent to an automated, outbound telephone dialer that in accordance with the instructions places telephone calls to the patient, at pre-defined times, and plays at least one pre-recorded message for the patient to hear.

Abstract:

A method, system and device for storing and displaying medical records with a particular user. Once the medical records are inputted into a database, that information would be transferred to a portable device carried by or provided in close proximity with the user. Removable insulating strips are provided to complete an electrical circuit between one or more batteries and a circuit board. Once a circuit is created, contact will also be maintained between the one or more batteries and the circuit board. However, a timer is employed to power down the circuit, if an input button has not been engaged for a predetermined period of time. A second embodiment would allow a user in contact with a particular organization to include the user's identification number in a first relational database and the medical data in a second relational database.

Abstract:

Point of care drug of abuse test system configured to allow a small number of general test kits to be used to analyze many different combinations of analytes, while preserving privacy and the chain of custody. The system uses disposable multiple-analyte test kits and allows the operator to select which subset of kit analytes to run. The computerized device images the test kits and transmits test results to a remote server along with a test specific ID code. The test kit is often obfuscated so that the local operator cannot interpret the results. Other donor information, such as driver's licenses and signatures, are also obtained and transmitted as well. The remote server uses the test specific ID code to retrieve an obfuscation code (answer key) from the server's database, allowing the server to interpret the results. The annotated results are transmitted to a recipient along with suitable donor verification information.
