Abstract:
A multi-ply paper substrate is provided, which comprises at least two plies bonded to one another by an adhesive; a basis weight of 80-200 gsm; an internal bond of 10-180 milli-ft.-lb/sq. in. as measured by TAPPI method 541; an MD tensile of 20-300 lb/inch width as measured by TAPPI method 494; and a CD tensile of 10-300 lb/inch width as measured by TAPPI method 494. Methods of making and using the paper substrate, products made therefrom, and uses of the paper substrate are also provided.
Methods And Apparatus For Forming Fluff Pulp Sheets
Processes for making fluff pulp sheets mechanically eliminate many unwanted fiber-to-fiber bonding (fiber bundles) in the sheet. Pulp slurry is deposited on a moving bottom forming wire to form a stock web. Pulp slurry is brought into contact with a moving top forming wire. The stock web is subjected to up and down dewatering creating separately formed layers to reduce fiber-to-fiber bonding. The stock web can be subjected to strong pulsating shear forces as it is being advanced along the bottom forming wire to break fiber bundles. The pulp slurry can be deposited on the bottom forming wire utilizing a headbox with dilution control to selectively adjust the concentration of the pulp slurry. Shoe presses can be used to dewater the web after it is subjected to the pulsating shear forces.
A process is provided for making a fluff pulp sheet, comprising forming a web comprising fluff pulp fibers; and applying at least one debonder surfactant to the web, to make the fluff pulp sheet. A fluff pulp sheet is also provided, comprising a web comprising fluff pulp fibers; at least one debonder surfactant; and a fiberization energy of
Soft Tissue Produced Using A Structured Fabric And Energy Efficient Pressing
A structured rolled sanitary tissue product having at least two plies, wherein the structured rolled sanitary tissue product has a crumple resistance of less than 30 grams force, a caliper of at least 450 microns/ply, and a bulk softness (TS7) of 10 or less.

Abstract:
A system and method of forming a molded pulp product that involves separately collecting, from a paper-making process, waste water containing short fibers at a first fiber consistency, waste water as dilution water containing fibers at a second fiber consistency that is lower than the first fiber consistency, and water containing long fibers, the long fibers having a length that is greater than a length of the short fibers, blending the waste water containing short fibers and the water containing long fibers to obtain a pulp slurry, and molding the pulp slurry into a molded pulp product at a pulp molding machine. In an embodiment, filtrate removed during the molding of the molded pulp product has a BOD measurement that is 95% less than a BOD measurement of the pulp slurry, where the BOD measurements are obtained using the EPA 405.1, SM5210B Test Method.
Bundled Product And System And Method For Forming The Same
A direct-to-consumer heat shrunk bundled product made up of a plurality of paper product rolls each individually packaged by a first package material and arranged relative to one another so as to form a bundle, the bundle being packaged by a second package material, wherein a substantial portion of the inner surface of the second package material is in contact with the first package material of the plurality of paper product rolls and is nonstick relative to the first package material. The bundle includes fused end seals so that the bundle does not include open gussets that might otherwise catch on machinery during sorting and shipping.
Soft Tissue Produced Using A Structured Fabric And Energy Efficient Pressing
A structured tissue product produced using a structured or imprinting fabric and a press roll. The tissue product has at least two plies, and has a crumple resistance of less than 30 grams force and an average peak to valley depth of at least 65 microns.
