Abstract:

A seat track assembly for adjusting a seat assembly of an automotive vehicle comprising a lower track having a first plurality of apertures, an upper track slidably mounted to the lower track and having a second plurality of apertures. A latch assembly is fixedly mounted to the upper track. The latch assembly includes a plurality of locking fingers projecting through the apertures in the upper track and adapted to be received in at least one of the apertures in the lower track. An actuator moves the fingers between a locked condition engaged with at least one of the apertures in the lower track and an unlocked condition spaced from each of the apertures in the lower track and a biasing member biases the fingers to the locked condition regardless of a relative position between the upper and lower tracks.

Abstract:

A-way locking rotary drive clutch assembly for actuating an adjuster mechanism on an automotive vehicle seat including a cylinder () fixedly secured to the vehicle seat and a mobile flange () rotatable journaled to the cylinder and fixedly secured to an input shaft () for externally actuating the adjuster mechanism. The cylinder includes a cylindrical bearing surface. The clutch assembly includes a plurality of cams () enactable with the bearing surface to prevent rotation of the mobile flange relative to the cylinder. The cams are rotatable assembled to the mobile flange for moving in and out of engagement with the bearing surface. The cams are biased into engagement with the bearing surface. A handle body () journaled to the cylinder includes a plurality of teeth engagable with teeth on the mobile flange. Tabs () extend from the handle body to move the cams out of engagement with the bearing surface during rotation of the handle body relative to the mobile flange.

Abstract:

A seat assembly for a motor vehicle includes a frame that is fixedly secured to the motor vehicle. A seat cushion is secured to the frame. The seat cushion defines a seat width. A seatback is secured to the frame and is pivotal with respect to the seat cushion. A loop fastener is fixedly secured to the frame and extends between the seat cushion and the seatback. The loop fastener selectively receives a child seat latch therethrough to secure a child seat to the seat assembly. The seat assembly also includes a removable bolster that is selectively securable to the loop fastener. The removable bolster covers the loop fastener when the child seat is removed from the seat assembly. Therefore, the occupants of the seat assembly will contact the removable bolster and be prevented from feeling the loop fastener when sitting on the seat assembly.

A powered track assembly () is provided for allowing selective forward and rearward adjustment of a seat assembly () along an interior floor of an automotive vehicle. The nuts () are allowed a predetermined amount of movement within the respective compartments () to prevent binding between the nuts () and the rigid shaft () due to relative lateral or vertical movement between the upper and lower tracks.

Abstract:

A riser assembly extends between a seat cushion and a floor of an automotive vehicle. The riser assembly includes a floor bracket that is fixedly secured to the floor. A rod extends laterally within the vehicle and is fixedly secured to the floor bracket. A front leg extends between upper and lower ends. The upper end is pivotally coupled to the seat cushion for movement of the seat cushion between a generally horizontal seating position and an upright position. The lower end is slidably coupled to the rod for lateral sliding movement of the seat cushion between primary and secondary positions. A pulley wheel is pivotally coupled to the front leg between the upper and lower ends. A cable includes an intermediate portion that extends between a first end fixedly secured to the seat cushion and a second end fixedly secured to the floor bracket. The intermediate portion is wrapped around the pulley wheel for effecting automatic lateral movement of the seat cushion between said primary and secondary positions in response to pivotal movement of the seat cushion between seating and upright positions, respectively. A biasing member extends between the front leg and the floor bracket for laterally biasing the seat cushion toward the primary position.

Abstract:

An adjustment mechanism is disclosed for moving a movable member relative to a fixed member. A threaded screw is fixedly secured to the fixed member. A gear is rotatably disposed about the threaded screw. A housing includes a bore and an opening in a lower surface. A rotatably driven worm is disposed within the bore and includes a threaded outer surface that protrudes through the opening in the lower surface of the housing and threadably engages the gear. A generally U-shaped retainer strap partially surrounds the gear and is adapted to couple the housing and gear together to align and preload the worm and gear. Abstract:

In some embodiments, a new add-on or factory installed shade panel assembly for a vehicle which creates improved lateral and vertical adjustments for sun blocking positions. Optional attaching methods are wrap around straps with Velcro™ ends, suction cups (for window attachment), or a concealed magnetic strip inside the visor which permits infinite lateral and vertical adjustment of 1 or 2 magnetic shade panels. In some embodiments, the shade panel assembly offers the advantage of precise tunable sun blocking for a low sun situation while still maintaining good vision of a traffic light and other vehicles. The proposed embodiments provide a new a low cost fabric type visor, which is durable, color coordinated, and fits all cars and sizes-left or right hand drive.
