Abstract:

A device mounting rail for use in mounting a peripheral device in a computer system comprises first and second elongated sides. The first elongated side engages the peripheral device when the device mounting rail is used to mount the peripheral device in the computer system. The second elongated side engages a retaining wall within the computer system when the device mounting rail is used to mount the peripheral device in the computer system. The second side is also compressible toward the first side to generate a spring force. When the device mounting rail is used to mount the peripheral device in the computer system, the spring force maintains the peripheral device in a substantially rigid relationship to the retaining wall of the computer system.

Abstract:

Disclosed herein is an apparatus for treating a target stain on a target surface with a stain treatment composition. The apparatus includes a pump with a manually compressible pump housing that defines a chamber. The chamber stores the stain treatment composition The apparatus also includes an applicator with an orifice that is in fluid communication with the chamber. The pump and the applicator are positioned such that the pump housing is manually compressible to deliver treatment composition from the chamber directly to a target stain on the target surface by way of the orifice. Further, the pump is elastically constructed such that the pump housing is manually compressible from an initial configuration to displace the treatment composition in the chamber and resiliently returns to the initial configuration after compression.

Abstract:

An axial flow cooling fan includes a rectangular housing base portion and a plurality of rectangular plate members, all having corner portions and central circular air flow openings. The plate members have corner openings and integral hollow cylindrical spacer members formed on side surfaces of their corner portions and aligned with their corner openings. To construct the housing subassembly the base portion post members are sequentially inserted through the corner openings of each plate member. Resilient finger structures on the outer ends of the post members create a snap-fitted locking engagement with the outermost plate member and anchor the plate members in a stacked, parallel relationship in which the installed plate members are held apart by their integral spacer portions to create side air inlet openings on the subassembly at edge portions of the stacked plate members. The housing base portion has a motor-driven impeller section operatively supported within its central air flow opening. Peripheral portions of the plate members and the housing base portion, surrounding their central openings, are preferably sloped in a downstream direction.

Abstract:

An apparatus for positioning a pointing device relative to a computer is either free-standing relative to the computer or releasably attached to the computer by a clamp. Buttons for moving the clamp jaw of the clamp from a home position to an extended position for attaching the attachment housing to the computer itself are ergonomically positioned. A hinge and clutch spring are disposed between the apparatus and the pointing device for unlimited pivotable positioning of the pointing device within a 90. degree. range for selected user positioning.
