His photography is recognized by a variety of associations and media including multiple awards from the International Photographers’ Association (IPA), and Photo District News (PDN). Last year, his exhibit, Nouadhibou, was nominated as the best exhibition of PhotoImagen Caribe 2010, and his work, Gunkanjima, was selected to represent the 400th anniversary of diplomatic relationships between Mexico and Japan. Recent exhibitions included presence in the Museum of Contemporary Art in Campinas, Brazil, the Museum of Modern Art in Mexico City, and at KWS in Miami during Art Basel 2010.
