Abstract:

A computer implemented method of presenting an online application, includes, at a first time, receiving and presenting a first webpage of the online application having a first style, and at a second time, receiving and presenting a second webpage of the online application having a second style that is distinct from the first style. In some embodiments, the first style and second style are in accordance with a user selected variable and the user selected variable has first and second distinct values at the first and second times, respectively. In some embodiments, the user selected variable is independent of the content of the webpages. In some embodiments, the first and second distinct values are determined in accordance with a user profile. In some embodiments, the first webpage is first displayed using the first style and is then re-displayed using the second style, without changing the content of the first webpage.

Abstract:

A cochlear implant auditory prosthesis corrects sensorineural deafness by generating stimulus signals to neurons connected to the auditory nerve in response to vibrations in the basilar membrane of the cochlea of the inner ear. The prosthesis comprises a plurality of transducer elements disposed along the length of the cochlea adjacent to the basilar membrane, whereby each transducer element responds to vibrations in the basilar membrane at the corresponding location of the respective transducer element. Each transducer element comprises a transducer for detecting the respective vibrations of the basilar membrane, and a signal processing element for generating a stimulus signal in response to the vibration. The frequency response and gain of each transducer element of the prosthesis can be tuned by a compact control unit to provide an ideal response for the user.

Abstract:

Targeted information is provided in accordance with one or more conversations from a list of conversations. At least one portion of a conversation from each of conversation in a list of conversation can be selected. From the selected portions, at least one conversation can be chosen. The conversation can be chosen based on a number of criteria such as a number of distinct keywords or word phrases present in the selected portion from a list of keywords or word phrases. One or more content components from the chosen conversation can be used to obtain targeted information, such as an advertisement. Targeted information can also be obtained by scanning a conversation description and a snippet for each conversation in a list of conversations to identify keywords or word phrases. Targeted information can be obtained using the identified keywords or word phrases.
