Abstract:

The present invention relates to a cyclosporin analog of the following formula (I) or a pro-drug or pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof: In particular, residue A maybe represented by either formula A1 or A2 as illustrated below: where X and Y are defined herein. In a second embodiment, the present invention relates to pharmaceutical compositions comprising pro-drugs or pharmaceutically acceptable salts of the compounds of the present invention and the use thereof for treating autoimmune diseases or for the prevention of organ transplantation rejection in a subject. In a third embodiment, the present invention relates to processes for the production of novel cyclosporin analogs of the present invention.

Abstract:

An assay for screening test compounds to indentify agents which modulate the binding of an E6-BP polypeptide with a papilloma virus E6 protein. The assay includes combining, as a cell-free system, an E6-binding protein or fragment thereof which binds to the E6 protein, and a test compound, and detecting the formation of a complex which includes the E6 protein and the E6-binding protein. A change in the formation of the complex in the presence of the test compound is indicative of an agent that modulates interaction between an E6 and an E6-binding protein.

Abstract:

The present disclosure relates to a method of generating visual percepts using conformal electrode arrays. The electrode arrays can be placed into the ventricular system or cerebral venous sinuses, which function as minimally invasive techniques for precise spatial and temporal localization of electrical activity within the brain, and precise electrical stimulation of brain tissue, to diagnose and restore function in conditions caused by abnormal electrical activity in the brain. The disclosure further comprises a system for using these arrays to generate time-varying electric fields to stimulate the visual pathways of the brain, including the optic radiations and the occipital cortex, in ways that lead to visual perception.
