Abstract:

A table saw includes a work support table that defines a blade slot therethrough and at least one guide groove oriented generally parallel to the slot. A pair of trunnions are attached to the lower surface of the work support table, with at least one of the trunnions defining an adjustment opening having opposing sides. A cradle assembly has a blade mounted therein driven by a motor, and it is supported by the trunnions such that at least a portion of the blade extends through the slot in the work support surface. To provide adjustment of the blade heel, an adjustment member is received by the adjustment opening in the trunnion and is rotatably attached to the lower surface of the work support table. Rotation of the adjustment member causes the adjustment member to contact one of the opposing sides of the adjustment opening, thus moving the trunnion to adjust the position of the blade relative to the guide groove.

Abstract:

A compound miter saw is described having a bevel lock and bevel index to facilitate setting and locking the blade of the miter saw at desired bevel angles. Also described is a compound miter saw having a miter lock and miter index to facilitate setting and locking of the blade of the miter saw at desired miter angles. An improved down stop is disclosed that facilitates the return of the miter saw to a desired depth of cut. The disclosed miter saw is described having an improved fence, improved dust collection system, and improved carry handles.

Abstract:

A clamp system for securing a work piece to a tool includes a rod having first and second ends. A clamping device is attached to the first end of the rod, and a key member, such as a roll pin, extends from the second end. An opening is defined by the tool for receiving the second end of the rod. The opening has first and second segments, with the first segment defining a keyway corresponding to the key member such that the key member passes though the keyway when the second end of the rod is inserted into the first segment of the opening. The rod is rotatable within the opening when the key member is received by the second segment of the opening to rotate the key member out of alignment with the keyway to secure the rod to the tool.

Abstract:

A floor cleaning machine has a housing and a movable hood that covers over vacuum and liquid hoses of the machine that are visible in prior art floor cleaning machines. The vacuum and liquid hoses are each pivotally connected to a wall of the machine housing and are also pivotally connected to a transparent dome provided on the hood. These connections reduce stresses on the hoses when the hood is moved and allow the dome to pivot relative to the hood. The floor cleaning machine also has a pair of slit orifices that eject fan spray patterns of cleaning liquid that are non-coplanar and do not intersect each other. Furthermore, the floor cleaning machine has an oscillating brush assembly that includes a brush that is replaceable without using tools. The brush height can be adjusted via an adjustment member provided on the oscillating portion of the assembly.

Abstract:

An apparatus and method are disclosed for attaching a capacitor cover or other enclosure to a motor shell without welding studs to the motor shell or drilling holes in the motor shell. The apparatus includes a motor shell having mounting tabs integrally formed from the frame band which forms the motor shell. The tabs can be formed by punching or cutting tabs in the frame band. The tabs can be configured for mating with apertures in the enclosure and can receive a threaded nut or can be bent or crimped to secure the enclosure in place. The method of attaching an enclosure to the motor shell comprises the steps of forming tabs from the frame band, inserting the tabs through apertures in the enclosure and bending, crimping or threading a nut on the tabs. In this manner, an enclosure can be attached to a motor shell without welding studs to the motor shell and without drilling holes in the motor shell.

A multimedia delivery platform includes a platform manager configured to monitor status of platform resources including content acquisition resources and a managed element, visible to the platform manager, including an externally accessible contact closure. A state of the contact closure is specified by user input provided by a platform manager user. The platform includes a shaking device configured to shake a signal acquisition device such as a dish antenna. A power relay in the platform includes a control terminal coupled to the contact closure of the managed element and output terminals configured to deliver power to the shaking machine upon activation of the power relay.
