Abstract:

A hollow fastening nut assembly including an upper head adapted to engage a wrench or other tightening tool and an integral co-axial, internally threaded lower section of reduced diameter adapted for insertion into an access opening in a fastened component. The lower section acts as a compression limiter. An optional annular disc spring may be disposed about the internally threaded lower section for engagement with the rear surface of the fastened component. A locking structure may be disposed at the exterior surface of the internally threaded lower section to engage the interior of the access opening to lock the nut assembly in place.

Abstract:

A drain valve for an oil pan of a vehicle lubrication system includes an aperture and a drain plug. The drain plug is rotatable relative to the aperture between closed and opened positions with less than a full rotation of the plug. The plug remains secured to the aperture even when the valve is opened.

A ring link assembly may include a connecting ring including an annular body defining a central opening, a bushing defining a central passage, wherein the bushing is retained by the connecting ring within the central opening, a compression limiter positioned within the central passage of the bushing, and first and second bushing limiters secured to the compression limiter at opposite ends. A compression limiting fastening system incorporating a spring element and cooperating compression limiting sleeve adapted for substantially coaxial receipt of a fastening element through a fastened component so as to apply a relatively light load to an outer surface of the fastened component during the fastening operation.
