Abstract:
An inventive method, system and apparatus are provided for syringe handling, and more particularly, for syringe labeling, filling and capping operations. To facilitate syringe handling, an inventive apparatus includes a plurality of syringe bodies interconnected in a predetermined orientation by a belt. Such belt may be of pliable construction and may define a predetermined spacing in between adjacent ones of the syringe bodies, such predetermined spacing corresponding with a distance between holders provided in a handling apparatus. The syringe handling apparatus may provide for the placement of contents-related information on belt segments between adjacent syringe bodies and for separating the belt segments, wherein a flap is left interconnected to each syringe body. The syringe handling apparatus may alternatively or also provide for automated filling of the syringe bodies wherein cap removal, filling and cap replacement operations are completed free from manual handling.

Abstract:
An extractable device is used to insert a flowable material into a vertebral body. The device comprises a filling member and a flowable material. The filling member is made of a flexible wall which includes a holding portion and an injection port via which the flowable material is injected into the holding portion after insertion into the vertebral body. The holding portion is provided with an opening which is releasably closed by a closure device so as to make the opening substantially resistant to the passage of material there through. Once the flowable material in the holding portion increases in viscosity, the closure device is released, thereby enabling the filling member to be extracted from the vertebral body so as to leave only the material in the vertebral body. The flowable material should be a material capable of setting to a hardened condition.

Abstract:
A medical implant device includes a shaft, an expandable member coupled to the distal end portion of the shaft, a sleeve and a detachment mechanism. The expandable member is configured to move between a collapsed configuration and an expanded configuration, and can be used to deliver a medicament, a therapeutic substance and/or a structural member into the body. The sleeve is coupled to the distal end portion of the shaft, and is configured to move relative to the shaft between a first position and a second position. The sleeve is configured to be disposed about the expandable member when in the first position and disposed apart from the expandable member when in the second position. The detachment mechanism is coupled to the distal end portion of the shaft, and is configured to detach the expandable member from the shaft when the sleeve is in the second position.

Abstract:
The present invention relates to an automatic injector having a drive assembly with an actuator extending from the rearward end portion of the housing and a removal resistant cover for preventing unintended operation of the actuator. The present invention also relates to a sealing arrangement wherein the needle is sealed within a sterilized needle chamber by at least three sealing members which cooperate to form the chamber. Also, the present invention relates to an injector in which the cartridge is mounted to a tubular cartridge mounting portion of the needle carrier with an annular sealing member disposed therebetween. The cartridge mounting portion has at least one generally axially extending groove which allows air to escape from the cartridge mounting portion as the cartridge is being moved forwardly to a medicament supplying position.
