Abstract:

A rotary mixer herein includes: a rotor chamber configured to receive a first surface and produce a reclaimed surface, the rotor chamber including: a front door, a rear door, and a rotor; a particle size detector configured to detect a particle size of the reclaimed surface; and an electronic control module (ECM) electronically coupled to the rotor chamber and the particle sensor, the ECM configured to: receive a particle size from the particle sensor, compare the detected particle size to a desired particle size, adjust the degree of pulverization of the reclaimed surface according to the difference between the detected particle size and the desired particle size.

Abstract:

An improved aftertreatment support assembly is disclosed. The support assembly includes a mounting plate that may be adapted to be affixed above an engine, and may be used to support engine exhaust aftertreatment components, including particulate filters and catalytic converters. The mounting plate may include front and rear isolation mounts, and each mount may incorporate an elastomeric vibration absorbing bushing. The mounting plate may be attached to either or both of an engine block or flywheel housing by means of brackets, each of which may be affixed to one of the mounts. In one disclosed embodiment, the mounting plate and brackets may be formed of stamped metal components, and at least one pair of the mounts may share a common bracket.

A milling machine, system, and method for implementing an exit cut operation raises a rotor from a state where the rotor contacts ground surface material responsive to a control input at an operator control interface of the milling machine. The rate at which the rotor is raised can increase as the rotor is raised. When the rotor is determined to have reached a top surface of the ground surface material the rotor can be raised at a maximum rate.

Abstract:

A milling machine, system, and method for adjusting a rotor cutting height adjusts the rotor cutting height to a target cutting height responsive to a control input received at an operator control interface. One or more legs of the milling machine and/or a height of the rotor can be adjusted to adjust the rotor cutting height to the target cutting height. The rotor cutting height can be adjusted based on data from one or more sensors. Each sensor may be a sonic sensor or an image capturing sensor.

A milling machine may have a frame, first and second ground engagement members connected through respective, vertically adjustable leg columns to a front end of the frame, and third and fourth ground engagement members connected through respective, vertically adjustable leg columns to a rear end of the frame. Each vertically adjustable leg column includes a hydraulic cylinder connecting the frame and the associated ground engagement member. A milling drum is attached to the frame between the front and rear ends. At least one pair of the leg columns connected to the front end of the frame or the leg columns connected to the rear end of the frame includes an accumulator associated with each of the at least one pair of leg columns, a fluid conduit fluidly connecting a bore end of each of the hydraulic cylinders to the associated accumulator, and a control valve disposed in the fluid conduit and configured to control a flow of fluid between the hydraulic cylinders and the associated accumulators.
