Abstract:

A system, method and computer program product for collecting information are disclosed. In general, information is displayed to a user. The displayed information is based on at least a portion of a plurality of record element constructors of a template. Input for the record element constructors is then received from the user in response to the displayed information. A determination is then made as to whether the received input is valid for the record element constructors. The record elements are subsequently generated based on the record element constructors and the received input. The record elements are then stored in a database.

Abstract:

Methods and apparatus for supporting online consultations are disclosed. In order to submit an online consultation request, a user registers to receive online consultation services. During the preliminary registration process, an online messaging privileges request is transmitted to a healthcare provider requesting that online messaging privileges be granted to the user. During the registration process, the healthcare provider may choose to decline the online messaging privileges request (e.g., if the user is not a patient of the healthcare provider) or accept the online messaging privileges request, thereby enabling the user to send online messages to and receive online messages from the healthcare provider via the Internet. Upon successful completion of the registration process, the user submits an online consultation request message via the Internet indicating that medical information and/or medical advice are requested from a healthcare provider. The healthcare provider may then choose to decline the online consultation request message or to accept the online consultation request message from the user by sending an online consultation reply message to the user.

Embodiments of the invention are generally directed to determination of physical connectivity status of devices based on electrical measurement. An embodiment of a method includes discovering a connection of a first device with a second device, and performing an electrical measurement of the second device by the first device via the connection between the first device and the second device, where performing the electrical measurement includes sensing by the first device of an element of the second device. The method further includes, if the sensing by the first device fails to detect the element of the second device and a predetermined condition for the electrical measurement is enabled, then determining by the first device that the connection with the second device has been lost.

Abstract:

A system for illuminating a reflective display or other material from a planar front device and a method of manufacture thereof. The system includes a light guide plate that conducts light from an edge light source across the face of a reflective display. Micro lenses are formed on the inner or outer surface of the light guide and direct the light conducted in the light guide toward the display. A stepped index layer is formed on the surface of light guide plate containing the micro lenses. The stepped index layer has an index of refraction lower than an index of refraction of the light guide plate to assist in the total internal reflection of light injected into the light guide plate. A top layer protective coat or touch screen can be laminated to the outside of the light guide plate.

Abstract:

Techniques are disclosed for aiding in charging an electronic device using a charging case. The charging case includes a conductive contact and may connect to a conductive contact of the electronic device while still allowing user access to the main connector port of the electronic device. The charging case includes a power module that may receive power from an external power source. The power module may include an inductive coupling coil, photovoltaic cells, or a power cable port. Circuitry within the charging case may control and transmit power from the power module to the electronic device through the conductive contacts. The charging case may include a battery. The charging case may also include a data module for receiving data from an external data source, and the case circuitry may process and transmit data from the data module to the electronic device through the conductive contacts.

One example modular electronic device of the present disclosure includes a frame and a plurality of electronic modules which are respectively removably received at a plurality of bays formed by the frame. The modular electronic device can enable a user to directly operate, interact with, remove, or otherwise manipulate the electronic modules without requiring the user to navigate through or otherwise interact with a graphical user interface. In particular, the modular electronic device can enable the user to operate, remove, or otherwise interact with the electronic modules by simply touching or pressing a particular electronic module.
