Abstract:

Embodiments of the invention provide techniques for translating text in a social network. In one embodiment translations of text phrases are received from members of the social network. These text phrases include content displayed in a social networking system, such as content from social networking objects. A particular member is provided with content including a text phrase in a first language, and the member requests translation into another language. Responsive to this request, a translation of the text phrase is selected from a set of available translations. The selection is based on actions by friends of the member in the social network, the actions being associated with the set of available translations. These actions can the viewing of or approval of translations by the friends, for example. The selected translation is then presented to the member requesting the translation.

A method may include receiving, from a user device, a request to access a long term evolution (LTE) network; sending, to one or more servers of a group of servers, a query to obtain information associated with a respective traffic condition and processing capacity; identifying a particular server via which to establish a communication session with the user device based on a determination that the particular server has a reserve processing capacity that is greater than a respective reserve processing capacity associated with other ones of the servers, where the reserve processing capacity is based on a traffic condition and processing capacity associated with the particular server; and sending, to the particular server, an instruction to establish the communication session, where sending the instruction enables the particular server to establish the communication session via which the user device is to access the network.

A device receives, at a particular time, instructions to send a page to user equipment. The device determines, based on a paging list, if the user equipment is associated with a particular serving base station for the particular time. When the user equipment is associated with the particular serving base station for the particular time, the device sends the page to the user equipment via the particular serving base station. When the user equipment is not associated with a serving base station for the particular time, the device sends the page to the user equipment via all base stations associated with a tracking area list for the user equipment.

A network management system may detect a network condition corresponding to a network and evaluate the network condition to identify types of network performance information corresponding to the network condition. The network management system may prioritize the types of network performance information and communicate priority information to a network device. Abstract:

A first node device, associated with an evolved packet core network, receives an error code from a second node device associated with the evolved packet core network, where the error code is destined for a user equipment. The first node device compares the error code to information included in a data structure that maps multiple error codes to multiple translated error codes understood by the user equipment, and translates the error code into a translated error code based on the comparing of the error code to the information included in the data structure. The translated error code is in a format that is understood by the user equipment.
