Abstract:

A ferrite load driver system in accordance with the invention includes a clock generator configured to generate a digital clock signal. The system further includes a digital pulse generator configured to generate an enable pulse having a pulse width equal to a certain number of clock cycles of the digital clock signal. The enable pulse is received by a driver element of the system. The driver element responds by driving a current in a first direction through the ferrite load for setting a first magnetic flux.

Abstract:

A reed switch assembly having a customizable length of activation is disclosed. One embodiment of the reed switch assembly may comprise a reed switch comprising a first reed contact, a second reed contact, a reed switch body enclosing the first reed contact and the second reed contact, and a bias magnet. The bias magnet may be positioned a certain distance away from the reed switch body to close the reed switch by a magnetic field. The reed switch assembly may further comprise a diversion blade that is configured to move in and out of a space between the reed switch body and the bias magnet. The diversion blade positioned in the space may open the reed switch by diverting the magnetic field applied by the bias magnet.

Abstract:

The present invention provides novel artificial oligopeptides capable of binding HLA Class II molecules encoded by several alleles. The oligopeptides include the sequence AXFVAAXTLXAXA (SEQ ID NO:1), wherein Xis selected from the group consisting of W, F, Y, H, D, E, N, Q, I and K; Xis selected from the group consisting of F, N, Y and W; Xis selected from the group consisting of H and K, and Xis selected from the group consisting of A, D and E, with the proviso that the oligopeptide sequence is not AKFVAAWTLKAAA. Abstract:

A driver for a ferrite load includes a controller, a clock generator, and a pulse generator. The driver includes a first driver element coupled to the pulse generator and configured to provide a first pulse with a first width that drives a current in a first direction through the load for setting a first magnetic flux. The driver includes a second driver element coupled to the pulse generator and configured to provide a second pulse, having a second width that is independent of the first width, that drives a current in a second, opposite direction through the load for setting a second magnetic flux. The driver includes a feedback input that is configured to receive at least one signal used by the controller to selectively cause the pulse generator to activate one of the first and second driver elements to apply a first or second pulse, respectively, to the load.

Abstract:

Systems and methods for sit on top circuit board ferrite phase shifters are provided. In at least one embodiment, the system comprises a waveguide ferrite phase shifter configured to propagate electromagnetic energy longitudinally between the ends of the waveguide ferrite phase shifter, a stripline circuit board that includes a conductive trace, and one or more conductive pins configured to couple electromagnetic energy between the conductive trace and an end of the waveguide ferrite phase shifter. The waveguide ferrite phase shifter comprises at least one ferromagnetic core that extends longitudinally between the ends of the waveguide ferrite phase shifter, at least one dielectric slab that abuts one side of the ferromagnetic core and extends longitudinally through the waveguide ferrite phase shifter against the ferromagnetic core, and a metalized rectangular housing that encases the ferromagnetic core and the dielectric slab and extends longitudinally between the ends of the waveguide ferrite phase shifter.

Abstract:

Systems and methods for an injection molded phase shifter are provided. In at least one embodiment, a method for fabricating a phase shifter comprises fabricating a ferrite element with first and second ends, wherein electromagnetic energy propagating through the ferrite element propagates between the first the second end; placing the ferrite element within a waveguide mold; and injecting a liquefied dielectric into the mold, wherein the liquefied dielectric hardens to form first and second solid dielectric layers that abut against out-of-plane surfaces of the ferrite element. The method further comprises exposing in-plane surfaces of the ferrite element, wherein the in-plane surfaces extend longitudinally between the first and the second end and are orthogonal to the out-of-plane surfaces that extend longitudinally between the first and the second end; masking surfaces through which electromagnetic energy is emitted into and transmitted from the phase shifter; and plating the exposed surfaces.
