Abstract:

A method and system for creating an optimized workforce schedule for a set of local or remote human resources to insure optimum staff schedules based on forecasted demand, past schedules, employee skill sets, and employee preferences is provided. Upon receiving a request to create a schedule, the system uses a pattern recognition procedure to create the initial workforce schedule. The pattern recognition procedure considers staff attributes and skills as well as past schedules to create the initial workforce schedule. The initial workforce schedule is then refined via a neighborhood search algorithm that incorporates user input and employee preferences to generate an optimized schedule that meets the forecasted demand for selected positions while satisfying employee preferences.

Abstract:

Apparatus for boresighting a firearm which utilizes a source of light such as a laser transmitter. A light-receiving and directing device carried on the bore directs a light ray along the axis of the bore of the firearm to a target. An optical sight carried on the firearm is adjusted in azimuth and elevation to be in alignment with the light ray as it reaches the target. The source of light is remotely located from the bore of the firearm.

Abstract:

A simple and compact device is disclosed for enabling the boresight alignment of the bore and optical sight of a firearm. An optical assembly, beam splitter, and illumination source assembly are integrated into an enclosure. The firearm bore is referenced mechanically to the enclosure. The illumination source provides visible light which is directed by the beam splitter into the firearm bore. The bore is illuminated from the muzzle to the chamber. This is observed when viewed through the firearm optical sight. Azimuth and elevation adjustments are made in order to bring the images of the muzzle and chamber into coincident alignment. Once this is accomplished, the cross hair of the firearm optical sight is adjusted to bring the cross hair into alignment with the muzzle, bore, and chamber images. The bore and optical sight are boresighted.
