Abstract:

A telephone network constructed according to the present invention includes call redirection functions that redirect calls intended for a toll-free-number or central number of an Internet Service Provider (ISP) to one of a plurality of available Internet Protocol (IP) gateways operated by the ISP. Call redirection may be performed within a coupled signaling network during a database lookup or Service Control Point operation, at a signal switching point of a destination switch or by a PBX operated by the ISP. The call redirection may be static or may be dynamic. In static call redirection, all calls are redirected to a single IP gateway. In dynamic call redirection, one of a plurality of available IP gateways is selected based upon operating conditions. In making such selection, IP gateway loading, IP gateway availability, telephone network loading, telephone network availability and telephone network routing costs are considered.

Abstract:

A biologically active reactor system for the treatment of wastewater comprises one or more submerged denitrification reactors having coarse media particles and a fixed biological film comprising biologically anoxic active microorganisms. One or more submerged aerated filters are in fluid communication with the one or more submerged denitrification reactor, the submerged aerated filter comprising coarse media particles and a fixed biological film comprising biologically aerobic microorganisms for oxidation of organic matter. One or more deep bed denitrification filters for removal of suspended solids and denitrification of oxidized nitrogens are in fluid communication with the one or more submerged aerated filters, the deep bed denitrification filter comprising fine media particles of less than 6 mm. Effluent from the submerged aerated filter is recycled to the submerged denitrification reactor for pre-denitrification prior to being piped to the deep bed denitrification filter. During the method, wastewater influent along with treated effluent from the submerged aerated filter is fed to a submerged denitrification reactor.

Abstract:

A drug dispenser for administering a drug solution ophthalmically. The dispenser comprises a cylindrical member having an open proximal end, a distal end having a hole for dispensing the drug solution, and a connecting passage formed in a sidewall thereof. A plunger is receivable in the proximal end of the cylindrical member and the member is axially slidable on the plunger between a non-mix position and a mix position. The dispenser further comprises a piston having a distal end and a proximal end and slidably disposed within the cylindrical member in sealing engagement therewith. The distal end of the piston is located proximally of the passage and forms a drug chamber with the distal end of the member for storing a drug when the member is in its non-mix position. The proximal end of the piston is distally spaced from the plunger to form a diluent chamber therebetween for storing a diluent when the cylindrical member is in its non-mix position. When the cylindrical member is moved to its mix position the drug chamber and diluent chamber are in fluid communication and the diluent is free to flow through the passage to mix with the drug to form the drug solution.

Technologies are described herein for animating objects through the use of animation schemes. An animation scheme is defined using a declarative language that includes instructions defining the animations and/or visual effects to be applied to one or more objects and how the animations or visual effects should be applied. The animation scheme may include rules which, when evaluated, define how the objects are to be animated. An animation scheme engine is also provided for evaluating an animation scheme along with other factors to apply the appropriate animation to each of the objects. The animation scheme engine retrieves an animation scheme and data regarding the objects. The animation scheme engine then evaluates the animation scheme along with the data regarding the objects to identify the animation to be applied to each object. The identified animations and visual effects are then applied to the objects.

Abstract:

A request may be received to trigger an animation action in response to reaching a bookmark during playback of a media object. In response to the request, data is stored defining a new animation timeline configured to perform the animation action when playback of the media object reaches the bookmark. When the media object is played back, a determination is made as to whether the bookmark has been encountered. If the bookmark is encountered, the new animation timeline is started, thereby triggering the specified animation action. An animation action may also be added to an animation timeline that triggers a media object action at a location within a media object. When the animation action is encountered during playback of the animation timeline, the specified media object action is performed on the associated media object.
