Abstract:
Devices such as amplifiers are built on a heat sink having a perimeter wall surrounding active electronic devices. Surprisingly formation of wire bonds to such devices tends to be degraded if they have an aspect ratio greater than 2:1. This problem is overcome by forming wire bonds before such walls have a height of 30 mils and after bond formation extending the walls to their final height.

Abstract:
A scheduled advertising method and system for printing marketing messages on a point of sale (POS) printer uses new POS printer capabilities with existing computer database and networking capabilities to implement a functional and economic marketing message scheduling and delivery system to retail end points. Providing dynamic marketing messaging capabilities on transaction receipts in a multi-lane retail POS environment, which includes a POS retail server and multiple host terminals with receipt printers in a multilane check-out configuration, is accomplished using various levels of scheduling services and databases which associate a schedule with each marketing message. The system operates within the existing retail POS environment, so it does not require a separate hardware system.

Abstract:
A variable air volume control system has a temperature system management device which calculates an air flow setpoint in a temperature zone as a function of a proportional term that accommodates gross temperature-setpoint errors, and integral term that provides heating or cooling load matching, and a derivative term that accommodates rapid fluctuations in the cooling or heating load, and communicates the flow setpoint to a terminal control unit to adjust the air flow to a space. The terminal control unit will implement a flow setpoint as a function of the gross error in temperature in the space and a default temperature comfort setpoint upon failure of the temperature system management device to maintain a temperature in the zone.

Abstract:
A multi-dimensional beamforming device that performs consecutive one-dimensional operations. For example, beamsteering for a two-dimensional array can be include a projection of a beam onto each of the respective axes of the array. In such a device, a first beamforming processing element is used to form multiple beams for each array output along a given row. In a preferred embodiment, sequential output vectors from the first processing element are then applied to a transposing or corner turning memory and the data are reformatted such that all elements on a given column of the array are applied to a second beam forming processing element.

Abstract:
An air terminal adjustment method to achieve an air flow setpoint wherein the time to achieve the setpoint is determined by calculating the difference between the flow setpoint and an actual flow and then dividing the difference by a change in flow per unit time. The time to achieve the setpoint adapts to changes in static pressure in the air terminal.
