Abstract:

A level detector or sensor for a dust collection system has a threaded housing that seats in a penetration in the lid of a dust collection drum or other container, and can be adjusted mechanically in its mounting. The sensor has an adjustment to control the distance at which it picks up light off the collected material. An elongated flexible cable connects the sensor with an alarm strobe, which may be a low-power LED device, and can be positioned at a convenient location remote from the drum.

Abstract:

A bench-top dust collector has a front or intake side where air is directed by a cowling into a pre-filter and then a final filter that are held in a frame. A rear compartment holds an array of small high velocity fans that pull the air through the filters to a plenum in the rear compartment. The filtered air in the plenum is discharged through a grill in a downward and rearward direction. The unit is compact and configured to be about the size and shape of an attaché case.

The gate housing has a flow passage therethrough, the flow passage having an inlet and an outlet. The gate housing also includes a gate pocket configured to receive a blast gate and to allow the blast gate to slide therein between an open position and a closed position. The magnetic brake element is on the gate housing and includes a magnet mounted to the gate housing such that a magnetic force of the magnet extends into the gate pocket.

Abstract:

A universal-fit vacuum assisted router hood tool attaches to the router to capture dust and particles generated by the router bit. A generally planar base plate is adapted to mount to the fiat base of the router. The base plate has a central opening centered on the axis of the router so that associated router bit protrudes through. A dust collection dome is rotationally positioned in the central opening, and the dome has a central opening at the axis of the router A cuff connector extending out from the dust collection dome to a hose cuff that can receive a hose of a dust extractor. An annular flange within the dome at the top opening prevents dust and particulates from exiting the top opening of the dome.

Abstract:

An ergonomic vacuum-assist scraper tool has an arcuately curved head in which a scraper blade is mounted at either of a front position or a rear position, a handle or grip portion, and a tubular connector portion adapted to receive a male or female vacuum hose fitting. The head has a cavity defined between front and back walls, with the front and back walls converging along an arc to a mouth or slot opening. The grip portion is hollow and tubular, extending proximally from the head, to the vacuum hose-accepting tubular connector. A scraper blade can be removably mounted at either of the blade mounting positions. The tool is formed of upper and lower halves that snap together along a partition line.

A cyclonic portable vacuum cleaner/dust collector has a cyclonic chamber and a filter chamber. The filter chamber contains a filter cartridge with a hollow core positioned over the discharge opening of a motor plate that closes the filter chamber. A vacuum blower is mounted on the motor plate, with an intake tube at the discharge opening of the motor plate. An anti-deflagration screen mounted upon the discharge opening of the cover plate of the filter chamber. The anti-deflagration screen is in the form of a metal mesh creating a multiplicity of small passages to permit exhaust air flow from the filter chamber but blocking any flame front. The screen may be hemispherically domed.

Abstract:

A cyclonic portable vacuum cleaner/dust collector has a cyclonic chamber and a filter chamber. The filter chamber contains a filter cartridge with a hollow core positioned over the discharge opening of a motor plate that closes the filter chamber. A vacuum blower is mounted on the motor plate, with an intake tube at the discharge opening of the motor plate. An annular pulse-cleaning plate is positioned over an associated annular opening that surrounds the motor plate discharge opening and has an open center that slides up and down on the intake tube of the vacuum blower. A bail handle or lever extends from the pulse-cleaning plate to a handle portion outside the cover or shroud. The handle is pushed down to lift the pulsing plate to provide a reverse pressure air pulse to the filter to blast off accumulated dust. An anti-deflagration screen may be present at the center of the motor plate.
