Abstract:

User interface functionality in a presentation layer is coupled with data and data processing functionality of an application in a domain-specific layer. A UI-element-factory-registrar supports registration of a UI-element-factory with the domain-specific layer for invoking a UI-element to create a UI-element object. The UI-element object is bound to a domain-specific data-source object. The presentation layer may be asynchronously notified of changes in the data-source object. Data-converter objects may be provided to convert between data formats, e.g., from a native code domain-specific layer format to a managed code presentation layer format.

Abstract:

Files supporting a development activity in an IDE are previewed and are not added to a collection of files in a working set for the development activity. A previewed file is represented by a single preview tab displayed on the user interface. The content of a previewed file can be displayed in a preview display portion of a user interface. The preview tab can be stylistically distinct from a durable tab and can identify the current previewed file. A previewed file can be promoted to a durable file. A promoted previewed file is added to the working set for the development activity.

Abstract:

Embodiments are directed to providing an image in response to a request for an image and to requesting an image for a specified context. In one scenario, a computer system stores multiple image representations of a corresponding visual asset identified by an identifier. The image representations include a vectorized representation of the visual asset and/or a rasterized representation of the visual asset. The computer system receives a request that includes an identifier for one of the visual assets and usage parameters. The computer system evaluates at least one of the usage parameters to identify an image representation of the identified visual asset that substantially corresponds with the usage parameters. The computer system then obtains the identified image representation of the corresponding visual asset based on the evaluation and provides the obtained image representation in response to the request.
