Abstract:
An implantable medical device having a concave ceramic housing component; a concave metal housing component attached to the ceramic housing component to form a hermetically sealed enclosure; and an electronic trans-housing magnetic flux component disposed within the enclosure. Another aspect of the invention provides an implantable medical device having a ceramic housing component; a metal housing component; a circumferential sealing member attached to a periphery of the ceramic housing component and to a periphery of the metal housing component to form a hermetically sealed enclosure; and an electronic trans-housing magnetic flux component disposed within the enclosure. Still another aspect of the invention provides an implantable medical device with a first metal housing component; a second metal housing component, the second metal housing component forming an opening; a ceramic housing component disposed in the opening, the first metal housing component, the second metal housing component and the ceramic housing component cooperating to form a hermetically sealed enclosure; and an electronic trans-housing magnetic flux component disposed within the enclosure.
Modular Peripheral Digital Camera System Connectable To Portable Computing Devices
A modular imager or camera system is selectively communicatively coupleable to a portable computing device. The camera system may include interchangeable lenses, and coupling structure to physically removably couple to other device, for instance microscopes. The camera system may also have the capability to connect, receive input from, or provide output to one or more input devices or output devices, which may be connected either in addition to or in place of an image sensor. The portable computing device may run one or more apps which receive and/or process images or other data from the camera system, control the camera system, and/or share images and other information between multiple portable computing devices and/or camera systems. Such is particularly useful in educational settings, allowing students or groups of students to operate respective camera systems and share images, for example under control of a teacher or facilitator.
Apparatus and methods to hold and manipulate dental floss for the removal of plaque and food particles from teeth surfaces. The invention comprises: an elongated handle which may house, contain, and dispense a supply of dental floss; a stationary tong which does not generally move with respect to the handle; a pivotal tong which can be pivoted about a pivot point; means for securing the pivotal tong to the handle to selectively adjust the distance between terminal ends of the stationary tong and the pivotal tong; and means for anchoring the dental floss to the terminal ends of the stationary and pivotal tongs, the dental floss being positioned to span the distance and be pulled taut between the terminal ends of the tongs. Means for guiding the length of dental floss along the stationary and pivotal tongs and/or means for cutting the dental floss may also be provided.

Abstract:
A novel psychophysical visual test is proposed for testing a person for glaucoma, and based on the discovery that a frequency doubling phenomenon is produced by isoluminent color visual stimuli. More specifically, it is proposed to construct a visual stimulus for which alternating colors in a grating pattern is the only basis for producing the frequency doubling phenomenon. That is, the colors are of the same luminance or intensity level, i. e. , isoluminent, but each grating or pattern alternates from one color to another. Preferably, the colors are complementary color pairs, such as blue and yellow.

Systems and methods are described that provide a dynamic reporting functionality that can identify important information and dynamically present a report about the important information that highlights important findings to the user. The described systems and methods are generally described in the field of diabetes management, but are applicable to other medical reports as well. In one implementation, the dynamic reports are based on available data and devices. For example, useless sections of the report, such as those with no populated data, may be removed, minimized in importance, assigned a lower priority, or the like.
