Abstract:

A digital file is associated with a header in which identification data for a physical key is stored. The digital file content is encrypted, and may not be decrypted by a receiving computer unless a removable physical key that can be associated with the receiving computer includes identification data which matches the identification data stored in the file header. The digital content encrypted in the file may be compressed, and the header may also be encrypted. When the header is encrypted, the receiving computer may decrypt only the header unless the identification data of the header matches the identification data for a removable physical key. Improved security and reduction of pirating of the digital content are therefore provided.

Abstract:

The digital file content is encrypted, and may not be decrypted by a receiving computer unless a removable physical key that can be associated with the receiving computer includes identification data which matches the identification data stored in the file's security attribute. The digital content encrypted in the file may be compressed, and a portion of the security attribute may also be encrypted. When a portion of the security attribute is encrypted, the receiving computer may decrypt only the encrypted portion of the security attribute unless the identification data of the security attribute matches the identification data of a physical key physically or wirelessly coupled to the receiving computer. Improved security and reduction of pirating of the digital content are therefore provided.

Abstract:

An audio data readout device for a motion picture film and a clock generating device in a changeover system for a motion picture film. First and second clock generating circuits generate first and second clocks of predetermined frequencies based upon a repetition frequency of perforations detected by first and second film readers and a repetition frequency of a track pitch of audio data, and route the resulting clocks to a changeover switch. At a changeover time, a changeover controller switchingly controls the changeover switch to select the second clock. A system clock generating circuit has loop characteristics of a longer time constant than the first or second clock generating circuits and smoothly locks the second clock to generate a system clock which is outputted. A stable and accurate system clock can be generated and outputted even when film running is unstable at the changeover time.

Abstract:

A "rod accumulator" riser tensioning cylinder assembly for use with off-shore production and exploratory drilling facilities. The tensioner is basically a hydro-pneumatic spring having a tubular cylinder equipped with a hollow rod containing sufficient volume to act as an accumulator. The rod is internally ported to the annulus of the cylinder. The cylinder exterior is coated with a material that will insulate the unit when exposed to high temperature and flame. A wear sleeve is supplied over the insulation material to provide a low friction surface for an outer, cylindrically shaped rod insulation jacket to slide over the cylinder when the rod is stroked into the cylinder. When the rod is stroked out, the jacket is also extended, protecting the rod from flame and high temperature due to its insulative properties. This is a low mass and low volume system, with low lateral area so that an increased number of such cylinder assemblies can be provided in a given horizontal area.
