Abstract:

Data storage devices are provided according to various embodiments of the present invention. In one embodiment, a data storage device comprises a host interface, a buffer, a storage media interface, and a data manipulation engine. The data manipulation engine comprises a receive pipe configured to read first and second data blocks from first and second locations in the buffer and to check the validity of the first and second data blocks, an arithmetic logic unit configured to perform a logic operation on first and second user data of the first and second data blocks, respectively, to generate third user data, and a transmit pipe configured to receive the third user data from the arithmetic logic unit, to generate and append a third checksum to the third user data to produce a third data block, and to write the third data block to a third location in the buffer.

Abstract:

A lock for a cathodic test station apparatus includes interfitting thread segments at diametrically-opposite portions of a cover and on the outer surface of a test station collar used to support an upstanding terminal board for coupling test leads thereto. An L-shaped resilient lock is attached to the end wall of the collar. The resilient leg extends along the side wall adjacent the leading end of one thread segment.

Abstract:

An electrical current of potential is fed to or measured in test leads associated with underground piping, casings and the like through the use of a cathodic test station for flushing mounting in the ground. The test station includes a hollow cylindrical housing having a flanged upper end and an implanted lower end receiving test leads and anchored in the ground by a bar extending therethrough and by ribs projecting radially from the outer surface of the housing. A carrier forms an airtight pocket within side walls projecting from a solid end wall having a flange extending outwardly for recessed support on a shelf in the flanged upper end of the housing. A clamp within the airtight pocket of the carrier supports a terminal block. In one form, the clamp is produced by protrusions from the side wall of the carrier and in another form, a clip extends across the face of the end wall of the carrier. Ends of the clip are spaced from the end wall to support a mounting wall of a terminal block member.

Abstract:

The disclosure relates to a safety lockout device for use with a domestic on-off natural gas valve of the type buried underground, sometimes referred to as a curb service valve. In order to prevent the inadvertent and/or unauthorized operation of the valve once it has been closed, a safety lockout device is provided comprising a U shaped bracket that is inserted into the valve box associated with the valve arranged at ground level above the valve. The bracket is of a dimension that prevents it from inadvertently falling through the valve box opening and has tabs that engage the ring of the valve box, which engagement prevents the bracket from moving relative to the valve box. To prevent removal of the bracket from the valve box a bell is arranged over the inserted bracket having a cover that prevents access to the valve by a tool used to operate the valve. The bell is of a dimension that prevents it from inadvertently falling through the valve box opening. The bracket has an eyebolt that passes through the cover of the bell which allows a padlock to be inserted into the eye, thereby the bell and bracket are protected from unauthorized removal.
