Resonant Wireless Power Source Having Coupled Resonators Oscillating In A Single Resonant Eigenmode
- Palo Alto CA, US Jeffrey J. YEN - Palo Alto CA, US Jon P. BAKER - Palo Alto CA, US
International Classification:
H02J 50/12 H02J 50/00
Abstract:
Various embodiments for tuning systems of coupled resonators are described to achieve a desired arrangement of RF current magnitudes and directions, and with a coupled resonant eigenfrequency equal to the desired driving frequency.
Wireless Power Transfer To Multiple Receiver Devices Across A Variable-Sized Area
- Daly City CA, US Jeffrey J. Yen - Palo Alto CA, US
International Classification:
H02J 50/20
Abstract:
A wireless power receiver is described that receives power wirelessly from a transmitter coil that generates an oscillating magnetic field. The wireless power receiver includes a receiving coil circuit having a diode string formed by an outer wire, an inner wire, and diodes. Each of the diodes include a first end coupled to the outer wire and a second end coupled to the inner wire such that each of the diodes are connected in parallel with one another. A rectifier circuit is coupled to ends of the diode string. The rectifier circuit includes capacitors and rectifying diodes, where at least one of the capacitors is configured to bring the diode string into resonance with the oscillating magnetic field. The rectifying diodes rectify the induced oscillating voltage to produce a DC voltage difference between the outer wire and the inner wire, thereby powering the diodes.
Wireless Power Receiver Circuits That Provide Constant Voltage Or Current To An Electrical Load, And Methods
- Daly City CA, US Jeffrey J. Yen - Palo Alto CA, US
International Classification:
H02J 50/20 H02J 50/12 H02J 7/02
Abstract:
Wireless power receiver circuits and methods for use in wireless power transfer systems are provided for providing a constant current or voltage, depending on which is needed, to an electrical load. The wireless power receiver circuits are configured to shut down the resonant responses of the receiver circuits when electrical power is not needed by the load to reduce power consumption and avoid unnecessary heat dissipation. Additionally, a switching device of the wireless power receiver circuit that is used for shutting down the resonant response can operate at relatively low frequencies, and consequently, can be implemented using relatively low-speed, relatively inexpensive components.

Integrated Power Transmitter For Wireless Power Transfer
Robert A. Moffatt - Palo Alto CA, US Jeffrey J. Yen - Palo Alto CA, US
International Classification:
H02J 50/12 H04B 5/00
Abstract:
A power transmitter for wireless power transfer. The power transmitter includes (i) a material sheet encompassing a path based on a wireless power transfer area, and (ii) capacitors and inductive segments disposed along the path, mechanically supported by the material sheet, and connected in series into a string of distributed capacitors. Accordingly, the power transmitter is configured to transmit, from a RF power source and based at least in part on a characteristic frequency of the string of distributed capacitors, RF power across the wireless power transfer area via a near electromagnetic field of the string of distributed capacitors.

International Classification:

Abstract:
A method for wireless power transfer. The method includes adapting a variable form factor transmitter into an adapted form factor based on a pre-determined wireless power transfer area, wherein the variable form factor transmitter in the adapted form factor comprises a characteristic frequency, maintaining the characteristic frequency to be substantially independent of the adapted form factor, and transmitting, from a radio frequency (RF) power source and based at least in part on the characteristic frequency, RF power across the pre-determined wireless power transfer area via a near electromagnetic field of the variable form factor transmitter.

An illuminated metal keycap having a legend diffuser material that may diffuse light through a legend opened in a background layer. The background layer may be opaque and the legend may be transparent. The metal keycap is adhered to a scissor mechanism positioned above electrical switch circuitry. Included within, below, or adjacent to the scissor mechanism may be one or more light sources positioned to emit light through the metal keycap, around the perimeter of the metal keycap, and/or through the background layer.
