Abstract:
A system for delivering energy to a patient's body is disclosed that includes a plurality of probes, a touch-sensitive display screen, and a controller communicatively coupled to each of the probes and the display screen. The controller is configured to perform operations including displaying a virtual control object in the user interface of the touch-sensitive display screen that is associated with an operating parameter of a treatment procedure performed with the probe. The controller is configured to adjust the operating parameter when a user touch action is directed to the virtual control object. The controller is configured to convert the virtual control object into a non-control label based, at least in part, on a current status of the treatment procedure. The controller is configured to prohibit adjustment of the operating parameter using the non-control label in response to a user touch action that is directed to the non-control label.

Abstract:
A system for delivering energy to a patient's body is disclosed that includes a plurality of probes, a touch-sensitive display screen, and a controller communicatively coupled to each of the probes and the display screen. The controller is configured to perform operations including displaying a plurality of dynamically sized channel control regions within a user interface of the touch-sensitive display screen. Each of the plurality of channel control regions corresponds with at least one of the plurality of probes and is sized based at least in part on a number of the plurality of probes. The operations can include detecting a user touch action directed to a user-selected channel control region of the plurality of dynamically sized channel control regions. The operations can include performing a control action associated with the probe(s) that correspond with the user-selected channel control region when the user touch action is detected.
A pump system for pumping a coolant fluid for cooled radiofrequency ablation treatment includes a housing having a front, a back, a right side, a left side, a top surface, and a bottom surface, and a plurality of peristaltic pump assemblies. The top surface of the housing includes a central channel between at least two of the peristaltic pump assemblies configured to drain fluid away from the front of the housing. A cooled radiofrequency ablation system additionally includes a pump system and a generator having mating surfaces such that the pump system can sit stably on top of the generator.

Pump assemblies and systems are provided. For example, a pump assembly comprises a pump head, a bezel surrounding an outer perimeter of the pump head, a motor, and tubing. The bezel comprises a bezel upper side, a bezel lower side opposite the bezel upper side, a bezel inlet side extending from the bezel upper side to the bezel lower side, and a bezel outlet side opposite the bezel inlet side and extending from the bezel upper side to the bezel lower side. The bezel defines an inlet channel on the bezel inlet side and an outlet channel on the bezel outlet side, each of the inlet channel and the outlet channel guiding the tubing into the pump head. An exemplary pump system comprises a plurality of pump assemblies that each supply a fluid to a cooling circuit and a base for supporting the plurality of pump assemblies.

Abstract:
Pump heads for peristaltic pump assemblies are provided. For example, a pump head for a peristaltic pump comprises an occlusion bed, a rotor guide, a rotor assembly positioned between the occlusion bed and the rotor guide, and a pathway for tubing. The pathway comprises an inlet portion, an outlet portion, and a connecting portion that connects the inlet and outlet portions. The inlet portion is defined between the occlusion bed and the rotor guide, the outlet portion is defined between the occlusion bed and the rotor guide, and the connecting portion is defined between the occlusion bed and the rotor assembly. Further, the occlusion bed is movable with respect to the rotor guide and the rotor assembly. In exemplary embodiments, the pump head urges fluid flow through the tubing to supply a cooling fluid to a medical probe assembly for delivering energy to a patient's body.

Abstract:
The present invention is directed to a system for delivering radiofrequency ablation energy to an area or volume of tissue. The system includes a wrap, where a stiffening element surrounds an opening in the wrap, where the stiffening element transfers radial compression to the area or volume of tissue, where the radial compression increases stability of the area or volume of tissue; and at least one radiofrequency ablation probe having an active electrode, where the at least one radiofrequency ablation probe is connected to a radiofrequency generator via a lead. A device that includes a wrap and a method of delivering radiofrequency ablation energy to a volume of tissue via the device are also described.
Dispersive Return Pad With Phase Change Material For Active Thermal Management During An Ablation Procedure

Abstract:
A dispersive return pad for a radiofrequency ablation procedure includes a skin material adapted to be worn on a patient's skin, a conductive material positioned adjacent to the skin material, a non-conductive material surrounding the conductive material, and a phase-change material surrounding at least a portion of a side edge of the conductive material. Further, the phase-change material is configured to undergo a phase transition at a target temperature range corresponding to a non-damaging hyperthermic temperature range for the patient's skin. As such, the phase-change material is configured to absorb excess heating from the RF ablation procedure and to prevent burns to the patient's skin.
