Abstract:

Embodiments of the invention provide for a virtual registry system that automatically attaches gift credit to a registry account of the gift recipient. The virtual registry system allows users to give gifts for specific purposes using aliases that eliminate the need for sharing of confidential, personal, or secure information. The use of aliases, which serve to tie an identifier, such as an event title, telephone number, or the like to a registry account, embodiments of the invention do not require that the gift provider know any information about the financial accounts of the intended gift recipient. By attaching the gift credit amount to the registry account, subsequent purchases made using the registry account, and of the type associated with the gift credit, (e.g., purchases for a specific item on the registry) are automatically settled by applying the gift credit amount to the purchase amount.

Abstract:

In general terms, the present invention relates to methods and apparatuses for providing a foreign currency solution. In some embodiments, a method is provided that includes: (a) establishing a foreign currency account for a domestic account holder; (b) receiving a domestic currency payment for funding the foreign currency account; (c) exchanging the domestic currency payment to produce an exchanged foreign currency payment; (d) crediting the foreign currency account by the amount of the exchanged foreign currency payment; and (e) authorizing a foreign currency transaction involving the foreign currency account and the domestic account holder. Other embodiments relate to configuring a mobile device to operate as a mobile wallet, such that the mobile device includes a foreign currency account module and/or a domestic currency account module that can be used to engage in both domestic currency and foreign currency transactions.

Abstract:

A system or method may include steps of electronically maintaining a plurality of accounts for customers associated with a first financial entity and a second financial entity. Then electronically, receiving EDI data representative of a monetary fund amount, and an endorsement request associated with at least one account requiring multiple endorsements. Subsequently, electronically determining whether the endorsement request to the second financial entity is in accordance with a predetermined policy; and responsive to the endorsement request being approved, transmitting EDI data representative of the endorsement to the first financial entity.
