Jeremy Barclay, spokesman for the Kansas Department of Corrections, said Saturday that Ridens has been returned to the Lansing prison. Additional charges have yet to be filed against him, Barclay said.
The whereabouts of a third escapee, Randy A. Ridens Sr., 57, of Topeka, wasnt known. Ridens has a full, gray beard in a photograph released by authorities. However, all of his facial hair was shaven as of Friday morning, said Jeremy Barclay, spokesman for the Kansas Department of Corrections.
Kansas Department of Corrections spokesman Jeremy Barclay said the two men believed to be in the house are Allen M. Hurst, 31, and Scott A. Gilbert, 49, who were both convicted in Sedgwick County, Kan., in 2010 of multiple counts of burglary and theft.
The escape prompted the Department of Corrections to remove the remaining 18 inmates back to the prison at Ellsworth. Department spokesman Jeremy Barclay told The Associated Press that the three recaptured men are now segregated from fellow inmates and each other at the Ellsworth prison.
