Abstract:
An electrical connector and a USB connector are provided. The electrical connector includes a main connector housing having an upper pin housing and a lower pin housing. A stereo plug that protrudes from a front surface of the main connector housing lies between the inner surface of the lower pin housing and the inner surface of the upper pin housing. The electrical connector is adapted to connect to a jack. The upper pin housing and the lower pin housing are adapted to connectively engage a forward plug port housing of the jack. The jack is mounted within the casing of an electronic device such as a hand-held personal computer, a personal digital assistant, a wireless telephone, or a paging device. When the electrical connector is connected to the jack, the upper pin housing is inserted into an upper housing receiving port and the lower pin housing is inserted into a lower housing receiving port so that the electrical connector is mated to the casing of the electronic device. The improved USB connector includes a connector body, a USB connector plug, an alignment post and electrical power contacts on each side of the alignment post.

Abstract:
An improved battery pack is provided for powering a hand-held portable electronic device such as a wireless telephone, hand-held personal computer, or personal digital assistant. The battery pack includes a generally rectangular battery cell where the battery cell has an upper surface and a lower surface, a length, a width and a thickness suitable for insertion into a hand-held portable device. The battery pack includes a battery cell casing for enclosing an outer perimeter of the battery cell, and the casing has a width equal to the thickness of the battery cell. A first locking latch of a pair of locking latches is defined along a first side of the battery cell casing and a second locking latch of the pair of locking latches is defined along a second side of the battery cell opposite the first locking latch. A locking latch catch is defined along an outer edge of each of the first and second locking latches for engaging latching detents defined within the interior casing of the hand-held electronic device for securing the battery pack within the electronic device. The locking latches are deformable so that the locking latches may deform inward toward the outer surface of the casing between the connection points of the locking latches to the casing so that an outer surface of the locking latches and the locking latch catches may pass by an inner surface of the latching detents.
Current Reduction By Receiver Linearity Adjustment In A Communication Device
A method for reducing current drain in a communication device includes a step of determining when the communication device is transmitting. A next step includes lowering the current level to the receiver when communication device is not transmitting. A next step includes raising the current level to the receiver when communication device is transmitting. Changing the current level alters the linearity of the receiver. As a result, the communication device reduces power consumption while operating in a traffic channel. The system is applicable to full duplex systems such as code division multiple access (CDMA) systems.

Abstract:
A system for accessing memory devices includes a processing module coupled to a set of outputs and memory operably coupled to the processing module. The memory stores operational instructions that cause the processing module to perform a plurality of operations. A first one of the plurality of operations includes utilizing a first output to provide a first data lane enable to facilitate accessing of a portion of a first memory storage location associated with a first memory address when in a first mode of operation. A second one of the plurality of operations includes utilizing the first output to provide an address bit of a second memory address to facilitate designation of a second memory storage location when in a second mode of operation.

Abstract:
Combined display panel circuit techniques are described herein. In one or more implementations, a combined panel circuit of a display device is configured to enable functionality for both recognition of touch inputs and functionality to update images output by the display device. The combined panel circuit, for instance, may include an electrode arrangement in conductive layers that sandwiches display particles used to form images for the display device. The display particles may be manipulated under the influence of a threshold voltage applied to the electrode arrangement that is sufficient to cause the display particles to transition between states. Capacitance sensing indicative of touch inputs may occur under the influence of a different voltage that is not sufficient to manipulate the display particles. The different voltages are selectively applied at different times to update displayed images through manipulation of the display particles and sense capacitance to recognize touch inputs.
