Abstract:

A modem uses information from prior calls in a current call if the current communication line is similar to the communication line of a prior call. During modem training, the current communication line is compared to a communication line used during at least one prior call. If the characteristics are substantially similar, stored data mode information from the prior call(s) is used to design a signal constellation for use during the current call's data mode. If the number of prior calls exceeds a value, then the signal constellation may be designed using previously stored data mode information without using information from the current call's training mode. If the number of prior calls does not exceed the value, then the signal constellation may be designed using the previously stored data mode information and information from the current call's training mode.

Abstract:

The invention provides a means for discharging sediments by carrying them with the main water streams being released to the hydropower generators without the aid of any external supplied energy or pump and without wasting the useful potential energy of the water. The method of this invention can also be used for collecting valuable underwater mineral sediments from reservoirs or mountain lakes. With the addition of a fluid drive assembly, the effluent discharge system of this invention also facilitates powering of underwater dredging equipment or other underwater machinery for underwater work.

A transceiver station provides wireless resources for cells on a plurality of carriers in a geographical coverage area, where the geographical coverage area is divided into a plurality of sectors. The transceiver station includes a first board and a second board. The first board includes a L1 processing circuit configured to perform L1 processing functions on at least one of radio frequency antenna streams and downlink transmit data for users in the cells on a per-carrier basis. The second board includes a scheduler configured to schedule at least one of uplink and downlink transmissions for the cells on a per-sector basis, the second board being separate from, but interconnected with the first board.
