Abstract:
An early warning and monitoring system is disclosed for battery cells and battery packs. During normal cycling of a battery, surface temperature, voltage, current and impedance may be monitored to determine if abnormalities exist in the battery and/or battery structure. The abnormalities may be advantageously detected using battery temperature characteristics, where the characteristics are subject to rule-based processing to determine impending battery failure. By receiving advance notice of failure, a warning signal may be transmitted to provide notice and/or allow corrective action to be taken.

Abstract:
Systems, apparatuses and methods for detecting internal cell faults using online and real-time sensing techniques, and providing an accurate and reliable early warning for the incoming failure of battery cells hours or days prior to failure. A system is configured to perform real-time and direct measurement of battery cell parameters of temperature, voltage, and AC impedance through online sensing. These parameters may be simultaneously processed using advanced probabilistic and/or fuzzy logic-based algorithms to provide an early warning for the incoming failure of battery cells in a battery pack. This technology may safeguard the LIB battery packs while allowing them to operate at or near 100% capacity in both transportation and stationary applications.

International Classification:
A61C 300
US Classification:
433 2
Abstract:
An orthodontic force measuring apparatus includes a dental replica which includes a first tooth replica and a second tooth replica. The first tooth replica is moveable relative to the second tooth replica. The apparatus also includes an orthodontic appliance secured to both the first tooth replica and the second tooth replica of the dental replica. The apparatus further includes a force measuring device operatively coupled to the first tooth replica. The force measuring device is configured so as to measure force exerted on the first tooth replica by the orthodontic appliance. A method of measuring orthodontic force is also disclosed.

Abstract:
A method is disclosed comprising lysing the red blood cells of a whole blood sample, oxidizing the free hemoglobin in the lysed sample, and cleaving FVH from the hemoglobin A1C to form an electrochemical test solution. In one aspect, a first portion of the electrochemical test solution is reacted with fructosyl peptide oxidase and a reduced ruthenium mediator to form a first reaction product. A first electrical property of the first reaction product is measured, the measurement being indicative of hemoglobin A1C in the blood sample. In another aspect, a second portion of the electrochemical test solution is reacted with ferrocyanide to form a second reaction product. A second electrical property of the second reaction product is measured, the measurement being indicative of total hemoglobin in the blood sample. Hemoglobin A1C, total hemoglobin, and % HbA1C are determined based on the first and second electrical properties. Also provided are systems and components useful in performing the disclosed methods.
Patient-Specific Tray For Orthodontic Vibrational Force Management
A device for accelerating tooth movement under orthodontic treatment is disclosed. The device includes a vibrational source and a patient-specific tray. The device applies vibrational forces with prescribed frequency and intensity to the teeth under orthodontic treatment with traditional appliances, such as bracket-wire system or aligner. The patient-specific tray ensures the vibrational stimulations on the teeth to be moved. The level of stimulation intensity can be controlled by varying the preload on each of the teeth based on the clinician's prescription. The tray can be further modified to ensure continuous delivery of the desired vibrational forces on the teeth when they move during the treatment.

Abstract:
Systems and methods are provided for forecasting and managing daily electrical demands. In some embodiments, a computing platform may receive historical demand data corresponding to historical electrical demand over a first period of time. Next, the computing platform may determine a reference rate of change (ROC) and a statistical mode corresponding to a number of positive ROCs. After, the computing platform may receive current demand data corresponding to current electrical demand over a second period of time. Subsequently, the computing platform may determine an alarm condition corresponding to a daily peak electrical demand. Following, the computing platform may generate one or more commands directing a second computing platform to display the alarm condition. Afterwards, the computing platform may transmit the one or more commands directing the second computing platform to display the alarm condition.
