I am a Health Administrator, Program Manager, Perinatal Psychology consultant and student Doctor of Public Health. I currently work in public health as a Federal Contractor with WRAIR in Silver Spring, MD, overseeing a portfolio of medical entomology research projects. As a public health practitioner, my career focus is on improving the health of women and children through research, program planning, training and policy development as well as managing health programs in maternal/perinatal mental health and wellness including outreach and education in prenatal care, birthing and lactation. Although my family will tell you my hobbies are babies, health and psychology, I really do like more than just my career. I love the ocean and I scuba dive as much as possible! I also like skiing, horseback riding, and cuddling up with my kids, hot coffee and a good book in front of our fireplace on a snowy evening. Professionally, I am a solution-oriented, high-energy, business-savvy individual. I have over 13 years of experience in federal contracting and program management with outstanding references and a wonderful drive of enthusiasm and professionalism. I am well versed in management theory and the practical skills involved in planning and delivering health services, managing budgets and evaluating the effectiveness of programs. With skills and education in management, epidemiology, law and finance, I am uniquely qualified for the multitasking balance of both health and program management. Additionally, I have a background dealing with personnel issues and interpreting and complying with the maze of laws that affect health care providers & organizations. My education in psychology and experience in community service, lecturing and teaching exemplify my skills in communication and leadership. I have superior interpersonal skills and have worked in many environments as a clinician, leader, analyst and program manager. Specialties I have been a featured speaker at La Leche League, SIDS Foundation, API and other events. I have published books and articles in the US & Canada. I am co-chair of the Communications Committee of Association for Prenatal & Perinatal Psychology & Health and on the Board of Directors of Birth Options Alliance. I have completed numerous certifications in perinatal loss and trauma and perinatal mood and anxiety disorders. I am a trained doula with CAPPA and childbirth educator instructor with BEBE.

"There are only two ways to live your life; one is as though nothing is a miracle, the other is as though everything is a miracle." Albert Einstein "All that is required for evil to prevail is for good men to do nothing." - Edmund Burke "Science and religion are not at odds. Science is simply too young to understand." — Dan Brown I don't support the war.. "I support the men fighting it." - Agent Gibbs, NCIS "The most beautiful emotion we can experience is the mystical. It is the power of all true art and science. He to whom this emotion is a stranger who can no longer wonder and stand rapt in awe, is as good as dead." -Albert Einstein "Faith is universal. Our specific methods for understanding it are arbitrary. Some of us pray to Jesus, some of us go to Mecca, some of us study subatomic particles. In the end we are all just searching for truth, that which is greater than ourselves." — Dan Brown "Every faith in the world is based on fabrication... Every religion describes God through metaphor, allegory, and exaggeration, from the early Egyptians through modern Sunday school... Should we wave a flag and tell the Buddhists that we have proof the Buddha did not come from a lotus blossom? Or that Jesus was not born of a literal virgin birth? Those who truly understand their faiths understand the stories are metaphorical." — Dan Brown one of my favorite poems~ "Welcome to my church, please come inside, Look at my sanctuary's ceiling, so blue and wide! Look at the floor of my sacred space all covered in green grass and soft moss. Never does a prayer go unheard here or is a whispered plea ever lost. Welcome to my Church please come deeper inside, Look at my sanctuary's ceiling, so dark and wide! No walls, no windows, only the stars and the moon. No inhibitions, no judgment, morning night or noon. Here is another part of my church please, come and see! The air here is warm and gentle and so sure and carefree. The doors are always open come day or any night Any time you have a need to speak with the Creator, any time is right! Here is another part of my sanctuary please you must see! There is no condemnation here, only the joy of life, being carefree. No doors to close to keep out those in need come day or night Any time you feel the need to speak with the Darkness, or the light. See my altar, here, no, no! It is not just a rock, never just a stone! This is where I place my offerings, pay homage, add my prayers, and I am never alone! You see the Lady and Lord are always here to guide and protect and listen to me. Within my circle I am granted wisdom, and taught to really see. I am taught to look with not only my eyes but with my heart and very soul. When you learn to see with your soul, and see from a different view, That is when most often you may learn to see a new and better you. Here see this is another part of my Sanctuary, the easy chair with the plant sitting there? You see my place of worship is where I need it to be, any time, any place or anywhere. Beside the ocean, on a white sandy beach, under the branches in the shadows of the trees, or in a field of green. My church is any place on this magical earth, from a living room to an Irish hearth or glean All you need to come to my church is you, You need no fancy clothes, tools and no fancy perfume, For you see true religion most often is not be learned from books of old, But comes from within and is learned through your soul. I grant you the old tomes can show you the way, a guide post if you may, But follow what your heart says is true, see the old in even the new. If you walk within this church with an open mind and a timid trust Then you will be filled with wisdom, with honest love, and for life a new lust. Come to my church and learn what you may, I hope you are filled with peace, love and respect every day. Come and find the Deity within and find out what it is to truly be free. This is my wish for you may your soul learn tolerance and to really see." © Shewolf Silver Shadows 2002
