US Classification:

Abstract:
Techniques for background subtraction in computed tomography include determining voxels in a slice of interest in a three dimensional computed tomography scan of the interior of a body based on a first set of measurements of radiation transmitted through the body. Based on the first set of measurements, a first background image for radiation transmitted through the body in a first direction is determined without the effects of the voxels in the slice of interest. A current image is determined based on a different current measurement of radiation transmitted through the body in the first direction. A first difference is determined between the current image and the first background image. The result is a high contrast image in the slice of interest even from a single current projection image.

Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to a FMCW Light Detection and Ranging system, a wave train of carrier frequency is modulated in narrow-band sequence, an delay interferometer with in-phase and quadrature outputs extracts the phase of this frequency modulation, and a coherent receiver with in-phase and quadrature outputs detects the phase of reflected light from a remote object, the ratio between two phases determines the distance of the remote object.

Abstract:
Provided herein are methods and apparatus for characterizing high aspect ratio (HAR) structures of fabricated or partially fabricated semiconductor devices. The methods involve using small angle X-ray scattering (SAXS) to determine average parameters of an array of HAR structures. In some implementations, SAXS is used to analyze symmetry of HAR structures in a sample and may be referred to as tilted structural symmetry analysis-SAXS (TSSA-SAXS) or TSSA. Analysis of parameters such as tilt, sidewall angle, bowing, and the presence of multiple tilts in HAR structures may be performed.
Novel Optical Interferometric Scanning Detector For Cardiovascular Function Monitoring

OmniSensing Photonics, LLC - Columbia MD
International Classification:
A61B 5/024 A61B 5/00 A61B 5/021 A61B 7/04
Abstract:
The object of the present invention is to disclose a novel optical miniaturized handheld medical device for convenient monitoring and/or data collection of detailed signals on human cardiovascular function. The implementation consists of a number of advanced technologies, including interferometric detection, phase controlled focusing beam steering, auto-tracking scheme and algorism, and integrated optical chip assembly to enhance the device's performance and miniaturization. Briefly, this handheld medical device directs a single or dual output laser beam(s) onto certain skin surface to detect the surface vibration velocity at the point where the laser hits the surface. The skin surface vibrates in response to cardiovascular signals, such as blood pressure pulses, turbulent blood flow through narrowed arteries, pumping actions of the heart, or the closure of the heart valves etc. The miniaturized apparatus thus is capable of detecting these signals for the assessment of cardiovascular functions in both healthy and disease conditions.

Omnisensing Photonics LLC - Columbia MD
International Classification:
A61B 5/026 A61B 5/00 A61B 5/021
Abstract:
This application discloses a potable, easy-to-use miniature cardiovascular sensor that is capable of monitoring heart rate, blood flow and blood pressure 24/7, using optical non-invasive method. It utilizes interferometric detection to improve signal to noise ratio. It also utilizes phase controlled focusing beam to reduce the optical power needed and therefore minimizing the power consumption, making it practical for continuous monitoring. The integrated optical chip assembly shrinks the total sensor size and makes it suitable for wearable devices, hence, this device will be portable and removable.
System, Method, And Computer-Accessible Medium For Determining At Least One Characteristic Of At Least One Tissue Or At Least One Mri Measurement Condition Of The At Least One Tissue Using Active Contrast Encoding Magnetic Resonance Imaging Procedure(S)
In another exemplary embodiment of the present disclosure is an exemplary system, method and computer-accessible for determining a characteristic(s) of a tissue(s), that can include, for example, receiving magnetic resonance imaging information regarding the tissue(s) including a time-intensity curve(s) of the tissue(s) based on a contrast agent(s) concentration, actively encoding a part of the time-intensity curve(s) with a magnetic resonance relaxation property(s) of the tissue(s) by varying a magnetic resonance imaging scan parameter(s) to generate encoded data during magnetic resonance data acquisition, and determining the tissue characteristic(s) based on the encoded data.
