Us Patents

  • Led Lamp Circuit

    view source
  • US Patent:
    20110254422, Oct 20, 2011
  • Filed:
    Apr 15, 2010
  • Appl. No.:
    12/760976
  • Inventors:
William Wagner - New York NY, US
Joel Slavis - New York NY, US
  • Assignee:
LED WAVES LLC - Brooklyn NY
  • International Classification:
    H01J 61/52
    H01J 9/24
  • US Classification:
    313 46, 445 23
  • Abstract:
A method of making an LED lamp circuit achieves uniform heating and cooling of an LED lamp to extend its lifetime. Steps include: providing a circuit board for an LED lamp and dispersing a plurality of light emitting diodes across a surface of the circuit board; distributing an LED driver on a surface of the circuit board so that the light-emitting-diode driver is not a distinctly identifiable component, does not interfere with the light output of the LEDs, and enables the LED driver to uniformly heat the LEDs when powering the LEDs; configuring the LED driver to attach to a power input; and integrating a heat sink to a surface of the circuit board, the heat sink configured to uniformly remove heat from the LEDs and the LED driver. The invention includes an LED lamp circuit made according to the method.
  • Connector Assembly For Use With Halogen Lamps

    view source
  • US Patent:
    58298673, Nov 3, 1998
  • Filed:
    Apr 26, 1996
  • Appl. No.:
    8/638240
  • Inventors:
Stanley K. Baczek - Muncy PA
Joel Slavis - New York NY
  • Assignee:
Light Wave Concepts, Inc. - Milford PA
  • International Classification:
    F21V 2900
    F21V 2934
  • US Classification:
    362264
  • Abstract:
Polymeric connectors suitable for use in halogen lamp displays are provided. These connectors include various means for improving their reliability and heat dissipation. In specific embodiments, the electrical conductors of the connector assembly are extended beyond a polymeric connector insulator to provide convective air cooling. In other embodiments, high temperature polymers are provided which improve the heat deflection temperature of the polymeric connector insulator. Additionally, better electrical connections are made possible by more closely managed receiving cavities for lamp leads and the like.
  • Method Of Making An Led Lamp

    view source
  • US Patent:
    20150103525, Apr 16, 2015
  • Filed:
    Oct 11, 2013
  • Appl. No.:
    14/051653
  • Inventors:
    - Brooklyn NY, US
Joel Slavis - New York NY, US
  • Assignee:
LED Waves, Inc. - Brooklyn NY
  • International Classification:
    F21K 99/00
    F21V 29/00
  • US Classification:
    36224906, 29830
  • Abstract:
A method of making a light emitting diode (LED) lamp is disclosed. Included are steps of: providing a metal heat sink having a cylindrical portion formed with flat planar surfaces extending longitudinally around the outer surface; providing flat LED boards that are attached to the flat planar surfaces; providing a circular LED board mounted to the top end of the cylindrical portion; providing a turret connector board with electrical connection ports to electrically join the LED boards; providing a driver circuit board and electrically connecting it to the turret connector board; connecting the flat LED boards to the driver circuit board; securing the circular LED board to the top open-end; and securing the flat LED boards to the flat planar surfaces. Optional steps include: providing a mounting plate of heat conducting metal; applying thermal compound; providing and installing a transparent cover; providing and attaching a mount to the incandescent lamp.
