A system, to process credit card payment transactions initiated by a merchant, includes an interface to receive a merchant-initiated request for a transfer of funds from a buyer credit card account. A credit card processing application initiates the transfer of funds from the buyer credit card account to a third-party merchant bank account, held by a third-party payment service. The third-party merchant bank account receives funds from the buyer credit card account on behalf of the merchant. A funds allocation application allocates the received funds to a receiving account of the merchant, the receiving account being maintained by the third-party payment service. The credit card processing application may be virtual point of sale (POS) terminal application, hosted at a server computer system operated by the third-party payment service, and accordingly may be accessible by the merchant via a network.
An identifier is received with a portion of a postal address. That portion is compared against multiple additional postal addresses associated with the identifier. If a match is detected, a confirmation is transmitted to a requestor who originally sent the identifier and the portion of the postal address.
Authorization And Capture With Multiple Currencies
Techniques are presented for authorization and capture with multiple funding sources and currencies. A transaction amount associated with a target currency is authorized from one or more funding sources, where at least one of the one or more funding sources includes funds associated with a different currency from the target currency. The funds from the different currency are calculated at authorization to cover the transaction amount and converted at settlement or capture to determine if the transaction amount is still covered at capture.
Authorization techniques are presented. A merchant and buyer interact with an authorization and settlement service. Multiple funding sources associated with the buyer are used to authorize a single transaction between the merchant and the buyer. The authorization and settlement service honors the authorization on behalf of the merchant for a configurable period of time. During this period of time, the merchant may completely or partially settle with the buyer via the network-based authorization and settlement service.
