Abstract:

A lightweight, portable foot inspection mirror, and method for its manufacture, with magnification and high intensity lighting sufficient for detailed viewing by a human adult of his or her own foot surfaces from a standing position. The present invention also has an illuminated activation switch configured for easy operation by a toe or other portion of a human foot, timed operation that allows for automatic deactivation of the high intensity lighting at a pre-set time after being switched on, and an optional elongated handle. Although not limited thereto, use of the present invention is particularly suited for foot inspection by diabetics and others interested in frequently monitoring foot health.

Abstract:

A device for handling small objects which performs the combined functions of collection, inspection, sorting, transfer, and funneling. The device has a planar sheet of material optionally having uniformly dimensioned openings therethrough, a three-sided frame attached to the top and side edges of the sheet for support, with the top frame member and the side frame members remaining unattached to one another. Optionally hinges can be used to connect top frame member and side frame members when the sheet is required to support heavy loads. The dimension and configuration of top and side frame members are defined by the size and shape of objects to be retained on the surface of the sheet. A portion of each side frame member extends beyond the unbounded bottom edge of the sheet to form a handle. When the sheet is fully opened into a flat configuration, the device can be used for collection, inspection, and sorting.

Abstract:

In various embodiments, a caregiver module is provided for use with a patient medical device, including a sensor to obtain a sensor signal related to the use of the patient medical device; an analog-to-digital converter to convert the sensor signal to corresponding sensor data; and a controller to transmit the sensor data to a wearable device, wherein the sensor data is transmitted in the same form as created by the converter. Various embodiments provide a wearable device for processing sensor data received from the caregiver module, including: memory storing processing instructions for interpreting sensor data of multiple types; and a processor to: receive configuration information associated with the caregiver module, receive sensor data of a first type from the caregiver module, and execute the processing instructions based on the configuration information, wherein the configuration information alters the operation of the processing instructions to interpret sensor data of the first type.
