Abstract:

A dual fuel system employs a liquid fuel supply subsystem and a gaseous fuel supply subsystem for an engine. The liquid fuel supply subsystem supplies liquid fuel to the engine and an electronic control module is configured to control, via one or more liquid fuel control signals, the amount of liquid fuel supplied to the engine based on one or more sensor signals. A gaseous fuel supply subsystem is configured to supply gaseous fuel to the engine and an electronic controller subsystem responsive to liquid fuel control signal(s) determines, based on the liquid fuel control signals, a modified amount of liquid fuel and an amount of gaseous fuel to be supplied to the engine for dual fuel operation.

Abstract:

Described herein are chewable articles intended to be provided to animals for purposes including dental cleaning, breath freshening, nutrition, administration to the animal of beneficial agents, satisfaction of the animal's urge to chew, and general enjoyment by the animal. The chews are made to be appetizing to the animal, to satisfy an urge to chew, to effect abrasive cleaning of the animal's teeth, to deliver one or more active agents to the oral cavity of the animal, or a combination of these. The chews have a resilient, chewable texture and are shaped to facilitate dental cleaning, to facilitate oral grasping by the animal, to appeal to human owners of the animal, to enhance the human-animal bond, or a combination of these. Also disclosed are apparatus and methods for making such chewable articles and for formulating and using them to effect dental health in animals.

Abstract:

A sonic transducer incorporating a rigid plate-like transmitting member coupled to electromechanical compression wave generating means such as a piezoelectric crystal for transmitting sonic energy in a medium. The transmitting means is damped to prevent ringing, and the transducer is particularly responsive to the high frequency audio spectrum. The sheet-like configuration of the transducer enables it to be recessed within a generally flat panel such as a front panel of a speaker cabinet while nevertheless being separated from the inside of the cabinet to avoid interaction with a conventional cone-type speaker that may be mounted in the same cabinet. The sheet-like transducer is resiliently mounted in a direction contrary to the principal direction of sonic energy propagation in the transducer to minimize loss of sonic energy to supporting structure such as a speaker cabinet.

Abstract:

A method and apparatus for evaluating the suitability of an encapsulated electrical circuit for use in a particular service environment provides for immersing the encapsulated circuit in a slightly conductive evaluating fluid whose chemical composition approximates the environment into which the circuit will be placed in service. The thus-immersed circuit is then subjected to a reduced-pressure testing environment to draw air and other retained gases out of internal voids within the encapsulated circuit. The pressure of the testing environment is slowly increased to cause the encapsulated circuit to ingest a quantity of the evaluating fluid. An input signal is then applied to the circuit and the circuit's response to the input signal is monitored over a predetermined time period.
