Abstract:

A signal transmission system including a first transducer mounted to a surface of a member, a second transducer movable into contact with a second surface of the member, a material disposed between the second transducer and the second surface of the member. A method for communicating acoustic energy through a member including pressing a second transducer to a second surface of the member, the member having a first transducer mounted to an opposite surface thereof, sandwiching a material between the second transducer and the second surface of the member, and transmitting a signal between the first transducer and the second transducer.

Abstract:

In one aspect, an isolation system is disclosed that in one embodiment contains a lower wet connect portion; a central production tubing; an isolation device associated with the central production tubing, and at least one control line, wherein the at least one control line is associated with the lower wet connect portion and is disposed through an inside diameter of the isolation device. In another aspect, a method for isolating a lower completion is disclosed that includes conveying an isolation assembly to the lower completion, the isolation assembly including a lower wet connect portion, at least one control line, a central production tubing, and an isolation device, and routing the at least one control line through an inside diameter of the isolation device. In another aspect, a completion system is disclosed that in one embodiment contains a lower completion system and an isolation system associated with the lower completion system.

Abstract:

A method of completing a wellbore is disclosed that in one non-limiting embodiment includes: placing a lower completion assembly that includes a flow device to provide fluid communication between the lower completion assembly and a production zone associated with the lower completion assembly; placing an isolation assembly with a packer above the lower completion assembly for isolating an annulus between the lower completion assembly and the wellbore; placing a flow restriction device above the packer; setting the flow restriction device in the annulus to restrict flow of fluid through the annulus; and setting the packer after setting the flow restriction device.

Abstract:

In one aspect, an isolation system is disclosed that contains: a lower wet connect portion, a central production tubing, an isolation device associated with the central production tubing, and at least one communication line, wherein the at least one communication line is associated with the lower wet connect portion and is disposed through an inside diameter of the isolation device. In another aspect, a method for isolating a lower completion is disclosed that in one embodiment includes: conveying an isolation assembly to the lower completion, the isolation assembly including: a lower wet connect portion, at least one communication line, a central production tubing, and an isolation device; and routing the at least one communication line through an inside diameter of the isolation device.
