Abstract:

A carrier structure for semiconductor transducers is disclosed. The carrier structure mounts as a single unit to a force-impacted base substrate and includes multiple piezoresistive elements integrally formed with the carrier structure, such that the elements are located on a predetermined elevation level as the carrier structure while maintaining their electrical contacts and their precise positions by using metal traces on a silicon substrate among the piezoresistive elements and bonding wires between the structure the elements.

Abstract:

A fragrance and/or flavor compound of the general formula (I): ##STR1## wherein R. sub. 1 is one of propyl or a 2-propenyl group and R. sub. 2 is a C. sub. 1 -C. sub. 5 alkyl group, said compound having exactly one R. sub. 1 and from one to four R. sub. 2. The compounds possess antimicrobial activity as well as flavor or odor characteristics acceptable for use in flavors and fragrances, respectively. The compounds are useful in forming flavor and/or fragrance compositions having antimicrobial activity. Product formulations, such as detergents, are useful for imparting both acceptable fragrance and antimicrobial properties. Other product formulations, such as mouthwashes, are useful for imparting both acceptable flavor and antimicrobial properties.

Abstract:

Novel macrocyclic diene ketone compounds useful as fragrance materials are described having the following general formula (I): ##STR1## where R. sub. 1, R. sub. 2, R. sub. 3 and R. sub. 4 are each either a hydrogen atom or a C. sub. 1 to C. sub. 4 alkyl, a is the integer 1 or 2 and b is an integer in a range from 1 to 6. Novel pathways are described for synthesizing these macrocyclic diene ketones, as well as saturated and mono-unsaturated macrocyclic ketones having the following general formula (IV): ##STR2## where R. sub. 1, R. sub. 2, R. sub. 3 and R. sub. 4 are each independently a hydrogen atom or a C. sub. 1 to C. sub. 4 alkyl, a is the integer 1 or 2 and b is an integer in a range from 1 to 6.
