Abstract:

A window structure for a gallium nitride (GaN)-based light emitting diode (LED) includes a Mg+ doped p window layer of a GaN compound; a thin, semi-transparent metal contact layer; and an amorphous current spreading layer formed on the contact layer. The contact layer is formed of NiO /Au and the current spreading layer is formed of Indium Tin Oxide. The p electrode of the diode includes a titanium adhesion layer which forms an ohmic connection with the current spreading layer and a Schottky diode connection with the Mg+ doped window layer.

Abstract:

An atherectomy burr has an operating diameter that is larger than the diameter of a catheter in which the burr is routed. The burr may include a polymeric balloon that is coated with an abrasive and that expands when the burr is rotated. When the burr is rotated, the polymeric tube expands by centrifugal force. The maximum expansion of the burr is controlled by an expansion mechanism. Various mechanisms are disclosed for controlling the maximum diameter of the burr thus preventing the burr from over expanding. In addition, the present invention includes a system for preventing the loose ablated particulate from reembolizing in the distal vasculature. The system includes an ablation burr that has abrasive disposed on the proximal end that is pulled back toward the guide catheter to ablate the lesion. The burr creates a seal when expanded to block the ablated particulate so that the aspiration system can remove the particulate from the patient vessel or stent. Alternatively, the burr system may include a self expanding seal that is deployed out of the aspiration sheath so that a slight vacuum can remove the large loose particulate form, the patients vessel or stent.

Abstract:

A method of analyzing performance data collected in regard to a plurality of content sources on a network. A ratio of performance metrics such as a render time for retrieving and displaying images and a fetch time for retrieving a base document, or a render bandwidth and a fetch bandwidth, for different content sources, is very useful in analyzing the performance of a distributed application across the network. By comparing measurements for two or more content sources and analyzing them according to a network structure, it is possible to recognize differences in the relative performance of the content sources and to quantify one content source relative to a standard defined by the performance of the other. The analysis both determines network performance and identifies specific performance problems manifest at specific localities of the network topology.

A semiconductor laser formed from a semiconductor wafer has an active layer, at last two optical cladding layers, and a ridge waveguide. A ridge top surface of the ridge waveguide is deposited from a first surface of the semiconductor laser wafer by a first height. Abstract:

The average propylene cycle selectivity of an oxygenate to propylene (OTP) process using a dual-function oxygenate conversion catalyst is substantially enhanced by the use of a combination of: 1) moving bed reactor technology in the hydrocarbon synthesis portion of the OTP flow scheme in lieu of the fixed bed technology of the prior art; 2) a hydrothermally stabilized and dual-functional catalyst system comprising a molecular sieve having dual-function capability dispersed in a phosphorus-modified alumina matrix containing labile phosphorus and/or aluminum anions; and 3) a catalyst on-stream cycle time of 400 hours or less. These provisions stabilize the catalyst against hydrothermal deactivation and hold the build-up of coke deposits on the catalyst to a level which does not substantially degrade dual-function catalyst activity, oxygenate conversion and propylene selectivity, thereby enabling maintenance of average propylene cycle yield near or at essentially start-of-cycle levels.
