The high speed syruper of this invention utilizes a combination of vacuum and pressure to fill cans with liquid. Steam is introduced into the cans prior to the application of a vacuum, and then the cans are filled with liquid under pressure, preferably in the range of 4 to 10 PSI. The filling apparatus comprises a circular ring manifold mounted for rotation on a vertical axis. A rotary coupling fluidly connects the manifold to a pressurized source of liquid, and a plurality of cam operated valves control the flow of liquid from the manifold into the cans.
A pear orienting and transfer apparatus for orienting pears stem-end lowermost and subsequently transferring oriented pears with the blossom-end foremost to subsequent inspection, peeling, coring and segmenting stations which includes a channel-bottom reciprocable shaker pan and lifter at each channel for feeding singulated pears one at a time down a movably inclined and intermittently gated delivery chute to a set of orienting rolls that orients each pear stem-end lowermost and places it in one of a plurality of pneumatic gripping cups carried on an indexible rotary cup drum.

Abstract:
A filling apparatus for metal containers has a rotatable bowl carrying filling syrup or other fluid with a plurality of filling valves arranged on the bowl bottom around its periphery to fill empty containers moved into traveling engagement with each valve. A control cam manipulates each valve in a repeating sequence through close, vacuum, fill and vent positions. A switching cam follower tracking the control cam and a cooperating switch activate the valving sequence if a can is present at a particular filling valve and de-activate the sequence if a can is not present. A pneumatic cylinder actuated by series connected proximity sensors for metal objects, such as cans, manipulates the cooperating switch to direct the switching cam follower for each filler valve into one control cam tracking mode if an empty can is in place below the filler valve or into a second valve closing mode if a can is not present. One sensor detects filler valve position and the other sensor detects presence of a can by a change in the inductance of the sensor produced electric field. Concurrence of sensor outputs manipulates the cooperating switch.

Abstract:
Systems and methods of transcutaneously stimulating one or more peripheral nerves of a patient with a wearable neurostimulation device regulated by a measured rhythmic biological signal to treat a patient are disclosed, and can include measuring a rhythmic biological signal of the patient and determining one or more features of the measured rhythmic biological signal of the patient in real-time; delivering a first electrical nerve stimulation signal transcutaneously to the first peripheral nerve effector to stimulate the first peripheral nerve sufficient to modify a first neural circuit to modulate nervous system activity of the patient at least in part based on the measured rhythmic biological signal; and delivering a second electrical nerve stimulation signal transcutaneously to the second peripheral nerve effector to stimulate the second peripheral nerve sufficient to modify the first or a second neural feedback loop to modulate nervous system activity of the patient at least in part based on the measured rhythmic biological signal.

Abstract:
A wearable neurostimulation device is provided for providing transcutaneous peripheral nerve stimulation to a user. The neurostimulation device may include an enclosure housing the electronics for generating electric neurostimulation signals and an adjustable band detachably coupled to the enclosure. The enclosure may include a stimulation button and one or more auxiliary buttons. The band may be configured to be worn by a user, such as around the user's wrist or arm. The band may include locking tab which prevents the loop from being opened. The band may comprise electrodes positioned to stimulate the user's radial and median nerves. Also provided is a charger for holding and charging the neurostimulation device. The band may include an RFID tag that wireless communicates with an RFID antenna in the charger. The charger may not charge the neurostimulation device if the band is determined to be beyond a threshold age.
Dry Electrodes For Transcutaneous Nerve Stimulation

Disclosed herein are systems, devices, and methods for peripheral nerve stimulation, particularly for treating tremor. The nerve stimulation may be accomplished by a wearable nerve stimulation device, such as a band configured to be worn on the wrist or other body part. The device can accomplish targeted nerve stimulation using circumferentially spaced electrodes. In some embodiments, the device may use only the same number of electrodes as the number of nerves that are to be stimulated. A biphasic charge-balanced waveform may be used to selectively stimulate a nerve near one of the activated electrodes but not to stimulate the nerve near the other activated electrode. The device may use dry electrodes for long-term, repeated use. The dry electrodes may include a conductive base layer and a polymeric, plastic or rubber skin contact layer comprising a conductive filler. The filler may be a powder, fiber, conductive coating, etc.
