Abstract:

A radiant burner is disclosed that includes a body configured to form a tray having an open top and a perforated ceramic plate configured to fill the open top of the body and coupled to the body to form an enclosed volume. The radiant burner is configured such that the ceramic plate covers at least 90% of a projected top area of the radiant burner.

Abstract:

A method of tracking movement of gaming chips in casino comprising gaming chips each having an electronic circuit which transmits information, and antennas located at gaming chip placement areas. When gaming chips are placed on a first gaming chip placement area within the casino, the antenna at that first gaming chip placement area transmits a radio beam which in effect scans the electronic circuits of the gaming chips. The electronic circuits identify the gaming chips by electronically broadcasting information. Upon moving a first of the gaming chips to a second gaming chip placement area, the antenna at the second gaming chip location transmits a radio beam which scans the electronic circuit of the first gaming chip. The electronic circuit in the first gaming chip identifies the first gaming chip on the second gaming chip placement area so that the location of the first gaming chip is tracked. The gaming chip placement areas may be at various places such as on a gaming table or a gaming chip tray.

Abstract:

A system is provided which weighs packages and applies individualized labels to each package indicating the weight of the package, the date, or other desired individualized information. A conveyor includes a weighing section where the weight of the product is converted into digital form and supplied to a data processing system. Individual labels are printed by electrostatic techniques including both bar code machine readable designations and alpha-numeric characters. The label printing and applying apparatus includes a print station, a toner application station, a fusing station, and a peeling blade for separating the label from the backing sheet, and an applicator station. As the individual labels are advanced to the applicator station, blank labels will pass under the print and toner stations, and these labels will not be charged or toned, so that the tape may be reversed and moved back to the appropriate position for applying individualized data to these blank labels. Photocell control circuits provide loops between the supply and the take-up reels and the label preparation stations, to facilitate rapid forward and reverse movement of the labels as they are printed and applied. Fusing of the toner is accomplished with a simple heated platen below the backing sheet, which fuses the toner prior to the label being peeled and applied to the product.

Abstract:

A sealed-combustion chamber fireplace includes a combustion air to fuel adjustment device comprising an primary air-fuel mixing body having a fuel source inlet at one end and at least one combustion air inlet port disposed through a wall portion of the body. The air-fuel mixture body may be configured in the form of an air-fuel venturi, burner tube and the like to effect mixing together of the air and fuel to form a combustible air-fuel mixture. An air inlet port cover is movably disposed adjacent the air-fuel mixing body and forms an adjustable air combustion aperture by placement of the cover adjacent the air inlet port. Movement of the cover about the body effects opening or closing of the aperture, thereby effecting adjustment of the primary air to fuel ratio of the air-fuel mixture combusted in the combustion chamber. A cover arm is attached to the cover and an actuator arm is movably attached to the cover arm to facilitate adjustment of the aperture, thereby, permitting adjustment of the flame appearance during operation of the fireplace from a position outside of the fireplace.

Abstract:

A printing apparatus including a supporting structure and structure for mounting a reel for rotation on the supporting structure. Tubing is wound on the reel and encoded information relating to a characteristic of the tubing is provided on the reel. The tubing can be pulled from the reel and moved through the printing apparatus. A controllable printer is mounted on the supporting structure for printing on the tubing. A sensor senses the encoded information and a microprocessor controls the printer in accordance with the encoded information sensed by the sensor so that the printer is controlled in accordance with the characteristic of the tubing.
