A one cycle internal combustion engine ( ) configured for powering a vehicle (V) is disclosed. The engine ( ) broadly includes an engine block ( ) defining three cylinders ( and ), three double-acting pistons ( and ) slidably received in the corresponding cylinders ( ), respectively, a fuel delivery system ( ) for delivering fuel to the cylinders ( ) to drive the pistons ( ), a steam delivery system ( ) for delivering steam to the cylinders ( ) to additionally drive the pistons ( ), a crankshaft ( ) rotatably supported by the block ( ) and drivingly rotated by the pistons ( ), and a temperature regulation assembly ( ) for regulating the temperature within the engine ( ). The double-acting pistons ( ) are powered on every stroke. The fuel delivery system ( ) delivers diesel fuel to the cylinders ( ) for combustion therein to drive the pistons ( ).
