A method and system for countering anti-traffic redirection of a roaming mobile station is provided. Observing registration messages exchanged between the visiting network and the home network, the disclosed invention detects if the visiting network has deployed an anti-traffic-redirection mechanism as aimed at fooling the home network into permitting connection with a non-preferred network. The invention also provides for a way to steer the roamer to reattempt connection with a preferred network.
Method And System For Providing Gsma Ir. 73 Sor Compliant Cellular Traffic Redirection
The present invention provides a passive monitoring method of redirecting roaming traffic associated with a subscriber. The method includes retrieving a first transaction ID at a TR probe, by passively monitoring a registration message intended for a home location information database. The method further includes retrieving a second transaction ID at the TR probe, by passively monitoring an update message originating from the home location information database. Further, the method includes sending an abort message by a TR unit, to the home location information database with the second transaction ID as a Destination Transaction ID (DTID) to restrict any further transactions with the home location information database using the second transaction ID. Finally, the method includes sending a registration response message by the TR unit, to a visited location information database with the first transaction ID as the DTID to restrict the subscriber from registering with the visited location information database, based on the subscriber's profile information stored in a database associated with the TR probe.
A system for implementing call control services for an inbound roamer is provided. The system includes a control node to implement the call control services in response to an initiation request. The system further includes a service node to send a terminating customized applications for mobile network enhanced logic subscription information (T-CSI) for a called number in response to a routing request for the called number. The T-CSI contains an address pointing to the control node. The system further includes a switching center to send the routing request for the called number. The called number is present in a call received from the inbound roamer.
A system for controlling traffic between a Home Public Mobile Network (HPMN) and a Visiting Public Mobile Network (VPMN) of a roaming mobile station is provided. The system includes a TR probe for detecting a traffic redirection (TR) attempt for the roaming mobile station, by observing exchange of at least one registration message between the VPMN and the HPMN. The system further includes an anti-TR unit for thwarting the TR attempt by sending one or more registration response messages in response to the at least one registration message received from a switch.
The present invention provides a system and method for providing Customized Applications for Mobile network Enhanced Logic (CAMEL) Subscription Information (CSI) of an outbound roamer of a Home Public Mobile Network (HPMN) such that the outbound roamer is roaming in a Visited Public Mobile Network (VPMN). The system comprises a roamers database storing an outbound roamer record of at least one outbound roamer, wherein the outbound roamer record comprises at least the International Mobile Subscriber Identity (IMSI) of the outbound roamer. The system further comprises a detection block to detect whether provisioning of the CSI is required for the outbound roamer and a CSI generation block to generate the CSI of the outbound roamer based on at least the IMSI of the outbound roamer, if the provisioning of the CSI is required. The system further comprises a provisioning block to provision the generated CSI of the outbound roamer to at least one CSI storing node.
Method And System For Providing Inbound Traffic Redirection Solution
The present invention provides a method for redirecting roaming traffic of a roamer associated with an HPMN and currently roaming in a first VPMN. The method includes detecting by a detection unit coupled to the first VPMN, a registration attempt of the roamer at a second VPMN, upon receipt of a first registration cancellation message of one or more registration cancellation messages, sent by the HPMN. Finally, the method includes causing the HPMN to send a registration response message to a VLR associated with the second VPMN, to thwart the registration attempt of the roamer at the second VPMN, by sending one or more registration messages to the HPMN from a redirection unit coupled to the first VPMN. The redirection unit further facilitates the roamer's mobile communication when the roamer's handset gets stuck in the second VPMN.
Providing Multiple Msisdn Numbers In A Mobile Device With A Single Imsi
A SIMM System and method is provided that supports many Mobile Subscriber Integrated Service Digital Network (MSISDN) numbers on a mobile device. The mobile device includes one Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) and one International Mobile Subscriber Identity (IMSI). The SIMM system includes at least one signal gateway that supports the use of numerous MSISDN numbers by the mobile device. The signal gateway couples among components of the public mobile networks to which the MSISDN numbers correspond. The signal gateway connects calls between the mobile device and a first public mobile network using a first MSISDN where, for example, the first public mobile network is in a first country. Likewise, the signal gateway connects calls between the mobile device and a second public mobile network using a second MSISDN where, for example, the second public mobile network is in a second country.
