Abstract:

A configurable electrical box comprises an electrical box having a wall structure that defines an internal space, a front open end, and a rear open end. The wall structure comprises at least one pair of opposing walls. In addition, at least two slots disposed through at least one wall of the pair of opposing walls. A dividing plate is slidably coupled with one of the at least two slots and is positionable between an engaged position and an unengaged position. The dividing plate is in contact with both of the pair of opposing walls when in the engaged position.

Abstract:

An electrical cord including a plug on a first end and at least one socket on a second end opposite the first end, a protective shutter assembly disposed within the at least one socket, the shutter assembly including a first and second shutter members positioned proximate the cover assembly and each of the first and second shutter members is at least partially aligned with separate cover openings in the cover assembly and being configured to move from a closed position to an open position in response to engaging at least one plug blade, a third shutter member positioned behind the first shutter member, a fourth shutter member positioned behind the second shutter member, and wherein the first and second shutter members pivot from the closed position to the open position and the third and fourth shutter members slide from the closed position to the open position.

Abstract:

An electrical box comprises a back wall and opposing top and bottom walls. Coupled to a top wall is a track that is configured to interface with a wall mount feature (such as a nail boss) in such a manner that the wall mount features can slide within the track. In such a manner, the wall mount features can be placed in a forward position for storage or transportation, and in a rearward position when installed in a wall. The forward position of the wall mounting feature allows electrical boxes to be nested within each other, raising the shipping density of electrical boxes that can be stored.
